“ This close-up of a majestic male lion left us speechless! His intense gaze and powerful presence captured our hearts at dawn in Manyeleti. Feeling blessed to witness nature’s awe-inspiring beauty up close.

Wow, Red Road with his famous headlock technique again, just like in the fight with Mandevu. He really does not like fleeing, does he, even when he encounters multiple males he goes for the attack (at least initially; he was apparantly chased back into Manyeleti, not surprising vs 3 males).

Interestingly, in the recent Tintswalo video above, he was scent marking and following a scent trail, perhaps he already smelled the presence of other males and was looking for them?

I was wondering that same thing. I actually posted the video above, before the videos of this fight dropped, but I was already aware of them at the time (the good folks who informed me, did not have permission, yet, to post them), and noticed that he seemed to be on high alert, being very watchful for something, anyhow.

Tintswalo videos are typically two or three weeks in delay.   So it’s unlikely it has anything to do w the Kambulas presence.    Also, the altercation occurred in Buffoelshoek, away from Tintswalo traverse area

Not lion related but I believe relevant.    This unfortunate event could have a ripple effect on Tintswalo operations.

Pray for her to pull through and my prayers to her family and friends

She and her family have been added to my prayer list. Please, do keep us informed, if you hear anything else, and also let us know if anything, like a go fund me, is created for them. Absolutely terrible, this senseless violence.

He will have to start fleeing. The other lion that strutted away with him looked bigger. Red Road male is losing condition and weight around his hips from old age. If those others decide to fight and team up he will be toast.

I just checked, and found she is now paralyzed, and will never walk again. That article also says her and her husband used to work at Sabi Sabi too.
