I dont think her being infertile has anything to do with her size.

Some of her Mhangeni mothers where huge, Tinya is huge, her sisters where/are huge.

Its just genes.

Same as we have big and small males, we have big and small females.

There was a maned lioness in Botswana, if memory serves her name was Mamariri, and she was exceptionally large. I think there was more than one, in different prides, and they were all in the Delta. She was really big, muscular, and even her roar was deep like a male's, but she was treated like a female by her pride. I don't recall if she was infertile or not, though.

I know her and she was infertile. A guide told me that.

IIRC inn case of ligers, their size is being attributed to that, them being hybrids, they don't inherit some sort of a grow inhibitor that is normally passed on by lionesses. Perhaps that's something that doesn't work properly (fully) in case of K6, might be due to a hormonal issue, might be not.

The PCMs do not take no for an answer often, perhaps they decided the juice was not worth the squeeze. Regardless of why they left, discretion being the better part of valor won the day! I, for one, and glad of it.

The PCM have never been defeated before, since they became territorial the closest thing to a "defeat" was chasing nomadic NK/Nhenha to Tumbela's territory, hearing 2 Tumbela and 3 Othawa females roaring and not replying.

And they weren't even 5yo by then.

This is the first seemingly confirmed time they not only entertained a back and forth chase ( which I thought they never would in a 2v2 ) but as well as being defeated in the end.

I guess it is a bit ironic that the defeat came from the Ndhzengas who perhaps most thought weren't on PCM level, even multiple guides straight up said it or implied it as well.

I for instance believed PCM to be stronger than they are and Ndhzengas although also strong, not at their level, but I should have added more emphasis to the fact NK/Nhenha was the only territorial coalition to have faced PCM before.

But anyway, Mantimahle aside, we've seen that all 3 duos are very strong and if they aren't unlucky tjey won't be ousted by other duos.

I'm happy that Ntsevu and Kambulas, 2 of my favorite prides, are protected by such competent males, it's just a shame there are only 2 of them left, which makes them vulnerable in that area since it is wide open in every direction, including Kruger, still perhaps it is not entirely a bad thing, having only 2 members may make them less willing to expand and abadon their offspring like they did before.

Can we call it a defeat?  They went into a territory... one they know they can't possibly hold, found there were 2 males (same number as themselves), holding it down and decided ... meh... The FAFO scale isn't high enough here.  We'll keep our 40% of the rest of Sabi back here behind us.

Ndhzengas won and PCM lost, assuming the report is true.

I agree unless there were signs of them being meters away from a skirmish starting to happen and they run away with their tails between their legs. 

At this stage it's some roaring back and forth and prior to this the PC Males have been giving nothing but praise in regard to their response to intruders, patrolling and keeping their territory safe.

Now it appears the narrative has changed and the PC Males strength, size and confidence has been overrated because of this so called back and forth with Ndhzenga's and not running the Ndhzenga's into the ground and destroying them. Unless there's clear video footage of the Ndzhengas nipping at the PC males heels and running for their lives then it's just speculation they were cowards.

This is too much the they chased eachother but the nwaswitshaka eventually chased the plains camp males out of their territory very simple no need to pick sides or any of that weird stuff
