Plus they're now dominant over a pride that is not their natal pride, which is also good.
Yes they're away from the snaring, but some males will have to settle there at some point, as there are prides.
The last update on the Kambula males was that they were moving north-east from Djuma towards the Buffelshoek-Kruger boundary. If they do end up settling in the Manyeleti, they would then also be at risk of being snared. Which is concerning.

Matimba grandfathers on both sides then, not great for gene diversity but luckily lions aren't affected by inbreeding in just a generation.
Regardless he already looks impressive, great mane for his age, he'll be a big boy. His sister might be ready to mate by the end of the year or beginning of the next, hopefully some unrelated males will take over the pride next time, though I hope not until the younger male subs are old enough to join their Orpen cousin.
