There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

2 females are very old.

1 of the younger ones has a limp.

Hope she recovers soon.

This isn’t alarming. I’m sure she will be fine and will recover fine. The two originals yes are getting up there in age. Hopefully will stay with us a while longer and help w the cubs

With 10 cubs, ideally the 2 older ones needs to survive and remain in good shape for at least 1,5 year to help feed them. After that the older cubs would probably be able to hunt by themselves.

Throwback to 1/3 Mangheni males, brother to the Kambulas ( in the middle ), to his left one of his 6 maternal grandfathers, the 1/6 I think he resembles the most, and to his right, one of his 4 fathers, the one that he resembles a lot, the Dark Mane Majingilane.

Credits to Savanna.

1/2 elder females from the Mangheni pride today, sired by Mapogo males. She and her sister are turning 15yo this month, but I can't tell, from this distance, if the female far from the camera is the other elder one or one of the younger females:
