Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Its not that surprising they hunt Buffalo that much. With large coalitions like that. Small game no longer cuts it.

Dreadlock on Singita, by Matt Durell (not dreadlock)

isn't Singita too far from where the Nkhulus were trying to settle?
Is it greater Kruger Singita - Trichardt territory? Or is it Singita Sabi Sand?

I deleted my post from the Sabi Sand thread sharing the same thing, since we don't know which Singita lodge this came from, here is the most appropriate thread.

I don't think he is really part of the Nkhulus anymore.

Most likely he is trying to leave as he found himself outcompeted by the younger members after being beaten up earlier.
Which is why he is seen on his own often. Especially if he is in Singita.

I find difficult to believe he would give up on being territorial due to high competition, he isn't getting any younger.

If you are near the bottom of the picking order in a coalition of that size, it does not really matter if you are territorial or not. You are being chased off kills and lionesses regardless.

And while he isn't getting younger. He has played the game a lot longer than them so he knows how to avoid trouble and still get decent food and the occasional lioness while on his own.
Who knows, he may even team up with another roaming male lion to form a duo. Which would be much more manageable for him than competing with half a dozen lions.
