There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Oh wow, that is a big deal then. He needs the partners, and they could likely use the guidance. Sounds almost like it has potential to become a Notch sort of situation. Am I reading into that correctly? I am not aware of any males, outside of the Notches to join up and make a coalition with their sons.

Nhena+NK and Lubyebye Sr. and his son(before the son disappeared) are a couple other examples.

Yes, great point, I forgot entirely about the Lubyebyes. Just shows the rarity of these events, for sure.
There was another lion in Timbavati.  I can't remember the name off the top of my head.  He'd actually taken over his natal pride and fathered many offspring with his female relatives.  He wasn't kicking out his sons as they aged.  Formed a coalition with 4 or 5 sons and I think a nomad.  @"Timbavati" could you help me out.  I think he was eventually killed by the Machaton Males.  The four youngest sons survived and went north.  They eventually established a territory of their own.  I guess coalition can only be used loosely in this instance as the youngest sons were very, very young if I remember correctly.

I don't know if his sons will want to, but Dark Mane N. Avoca seems like he'd probably amicable to forming a coalition with his sons.

That's the Mohlabetsi males from Balule. He formed a coalition with his sons

I thinks thats Mos last cubs, since he hasnt been seen in while and we can presume he hasnt sired any more cubs as he keeping a low profile as a nomad.

Might be, Mjejane is very close to the area where s26 males where attacked, and looks like these males just came to Mjejane.

Not sure they’re showing any scarring from a recent conflict.    I’m sire two large S26 Males could leave some type trace.

But they used to be 5 and only 4 are seen here…..so who knows.  Hmmmmmm
