At one stage he followed the lioness past our vehicle, but instead of just walking past, like she did, he actually took two steps towards us when he was right next to our vehicle with a very intimidating stare. I also want to urge people to listen to your guides and abide by the rules, there are reasons why you should not hang through windows and sunroofs, especially at sightings like these, one of the guests on a game viewing vehicle stood up inside the vehicle and this male immediately reacted to that person, showing his displeasure.

It was an amazing experience to see these apex predators of the bush up close and to again realise the size and power of these magnificent animals.

Is he transport dam male??
If someone brief me about this transport dam male/males history.
On YT, I got 3 videos back to back from a channel stating that these transport dam males are sons of mapogo and majinglanes ( one is eldest son of majinglanes from fourway pride, dark mane junior and other one was pretty boy mapogo son from ximuangwe pride).
Is it so??

Definitely not Mapogo offspring.   You’re confusing them with another previous coalition.

It’s not these boys here who also go by the H2-2 Males. And yes known as transport dam males

As we said before, its a speculation that they are these 3 Mluwati young males, photo from begining of 2020 :

They have same constitution (2 older dark maned and 1 younger blonde male), age also match and 3 Sweni Pride males become dominant just north of this area around early 2021, so roughly 1 year after this photo.

Also these 3 where never seen again anywhere, so with all this taking into consideration, theres a quite high chance those are them.

But yea, we dont have any other better photos of these 3 young males to confirm it thru whisker spots, so we cant confirm 100%.

Hmm, that pride is pretty much settled around Skukuza.

Who would be dominant males there around 2018 when these guys are prob born?

At that time Mantimahles where more towards east Skukuza, Mpondos south and Charlestons towards west, I dont think there was another dominant coalition at that time around Skukuza, rest where bunch of nomads like HRM and ShyBoy, older Renosterkoppies and older Nwaswitshaka, Tsalalas etc.

For those who are familiar with the coalitions and prides in the South, this was on the sightings WhatsApp. Seems like some sort of clash/altercation may be brewing:

"Big males just outside roaring running back and forth. Still trying to figure out what is the dynamics"

Photo below, rather indistinct but someone maybe able to ID by the mane/general features. Credit to Renata of Kedibone Safaris, of course.

2 Shishangenis vs 4 Gomondwanes, tensions between those 2 coalitions has been high im recent weeks.

2 Shishangenis chased 2 or 3 Gomondwanes not long ago, and they where after Gomondwanes Vurhami females (which where once under Shishangenis rule), after that 3 Gomondwanes got reinforcment as 4th male joined them.

Gomondwanes are expanding west into Shishangenis territory progressively for years now, i guess 2 older Shishangenis want to draw a line here, but dont know if they can do it vs 4 prime Gomondwanes.

It's curious, if it's the case that the shishagenis are pushing even though they're outnumbered, in the other cases they seem to have taken advantage of one or two isolated males so if that's the case it would be the first encounter where they put themselves at a clear disadvantage. .

A guide friend said Shishangeni were mating with 2 Vurhami lioness today, and some back and forth chasing occurred between both Shishangeni and Gomondwane coalitions. Still waiting for what happened next

From te look of it, it looks like 2 Shishangenis are challenging Gomondwanes, which is crazy, more so that they are around 11-12 years old lol.
