Perhaps the Mhangenis. They suddenly have popped up in Londolozi again after spending months in Othawa territory. A huge fight could be the reason behind that.
Lionesses also have more of a reason to be harsh on rival lionesses than males do.
Is this one of the younger ones? If so and she dies. It would mean the pride is down to just one breeding lioness at the moment.

Guide said Nwalungu males were close by. At this point Mhangeni pride will avoid them so if Nwalungu males were there there are very low chances Mhangeni pride would be there as well.

Thanks for clarifying. I always believed that Aunti was the older one. But I forgot there was gap between the other two aswell.
The wounds seem fresh. So that would also rule out the Mhangeni.
They also seem superficial with no wounds visible on the spine. So it likely wasnt a fight to the death.
That she is putting pressure on all four legs also is a good sign.
I think she got surprised by the Nwanlungus and refused to surrender a kill or something.
I dont think we will see much conflict between the two. The Nwalungu likely are just stalking the Mhangeni and will probably follow them back to Londolozi. Them being this agresive wil definitly be a problem though.
Last evening the Southern Pride lioness and her two cubs were grooming, trying to remove any remnants of the meal they just had. Two males had obviously muscled in on the kill, but their presence was clearly not appreciated by the mother, who was continuously snarling and growling at the seemingly oblivious males.
Most of her wounds dont seem as bad. So provided things dont get infected or there arent any unseen more serious wounds. She will probably be fine.
I dont think she was with the pride when the fight happened. But that there are cubs missing may suggest they had a run in with them too. So I guess they got seperated in the confusion.
I guess the two older cubs refer to Sassies litter. So thats two female cubs left then.

Awesome pictures for whisker spots for later! Although these two cubs have distinctively different head shapes and possibly could be told them apart by that in future. Still very nice close up of the roundheaded female cub with both sides of whisker spots!
If it comes to Sassy being the sole lioness of her pride, two cubs are manageable amount, bringing up 6 of them would be an epic task. Also if that is the case hopefully both cubs are females. The pride needs to rebuild itself and ofc eventual female sub-adults would be easier to feed than their male counterparts. Plus Tumbelas would take their lionshare on regular basis.
Its reported though that the two cubs are the oldest ones. Which would make them part of Sassies litter which was entirely female.
Which I agree would be good too. That pride cannot afford wasting time on raising male cubs.
Poor Jrs mom though. Despite her name she just cant get a break in motherhood.
