There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

"By far one of the best days of my life spotting this guy in the wild in the Brazilian Pantanal.

The Pantanal is the world’s largest wetland and is fairly well off the backpacker route due to how far inland it is and the relative difficulty of getting ther

On the final day of our 4 days searching the canals in a 6 person tin boat we were rewarded by hearing the unique growl of a Jaguar not far off. After about 5 minutes of searching the banks we spotted this guy lying in the shade. He was wary of us, and moved down the bank a couple of times without ever taking his eyes off us. Our guide was so excited, it soon became apparent that this sighting was in fact very rare and we got the feeling he may have actually never seen a Jaguar before despite his nearly 20 years of guiding in the Pantanal.

It hard to describe his impressive size and the sheer adrenalin of our tiny boat being well within his reach should he have chosen to attack. Lucky for us he didn’t seem too hungry."
