I couldn't be more agree. The BYM and DM Avoca are males that look very similar each-other. After all I think that makes much sense, as probably they were sired by the same male
Amazing sightings - The Birmingham Pride with the Ross males aka Tyson and Fabio and the young Birmingham (Osindile) is with them doing very well - Sunset drive 11.28.20.

Great pics, thanks for sharing them. They are becoming quite the super pride, I think I heard on a video just yesterday, that they now have 18 members. I truly hope the Tsalala and Ximungwe prides can rebuild to such numbers, they face a tremendous uphill battle, but they have proven themselves to be survivors, for sure. If they can accomplish that, it would be one of the greatest survival stories ever. All of the prides and areas we love reading about so much are filled with such stories, which is what makes them so fascinating.

Apparently,Osindile has a injured paw. I don't know the reasons, but,Unless that he had confrontation with the Ross males(?)...

Wow, he is filling out so good. he is going to be absolutely enormous. It is getting to the point to where he is nearly as big as Tyson, which I believe is helping to keep Tyson at bay for now. I hope he begins wandering before he does something that causes Tyson and Fabio to go after him. Right now, Fabio seems rather accepting of him, but if he gets caught tying to mate within the pride, those feelings will quickly turn to rage, something I believe Tyson would readily accept. Maybe he can wait long enough to join up with his white brother, and Junior who seems to be just about the same age as BYM, what a team that would be.

Which Junior? If you think Othawa Junior, he is almost 2 yrs younger then BYM, he is just few months older then white Birmingham male and his 2 brothers..

Which Junior? If you think Othawa Junior, he is almost 2 yrs younger then BYM, he is just few months older then white Birmingham male and his 2 brothers..
Yes, sorry I should have been more clear, what with there being so many Juniors around, I meant Junior Othawa, I thought they were closer in age. But, given how long he has hung around the pride, he may well see the white male to nomadic age, and thus due to their closeness in age, Junior Othawa may be ready to leave his pride around the same time. Junior Othawa appears older than that to me, for some reason. His mane isn't to the levels of BYM, but it is definitely larger than the white male. Body size of the white male, for his age, seems he will be really big as well, similar to BYM in that way.

Right, and has remained in the pride, primarily due to that terrible injury. But, now that he has hung around for so much longer than usual, perhaps he can wait around until the white male is ready to leave as well. When was the white male born?

Yeah, then my hopes are likely just a pipe dream. He has already hung around so much longer than one would expect, to expect him to hang around long enough for those two to go nomadic is asking a lot, for sure. Given recent tensions in the Birmingham Pride, between him and Tyson, along with his recent walk about, it seems he is beginning to spread his wings a little. To be honest, I have half been expecting to come in here and read that he appears to have left the pride. In fact, I almost thought the aforementioned walk about might have been it, but then he returned.

No problem at all! With all those lions with similar names often happens mistakes... BTW, The young Birmingham male might thrive well in the area,Due,If he get pressured by the Ross males he'll left his natal pride with their cousins. The lion dynamics in Sabi Sands,Manyeleti and Timbavati is exciting!

Here's the video of the pictures you posted. I thought that was BYM in that line, in the third picture down, but couldn't tell for sure until I saw the video in which you can see his limp. His head is enormous, it is almost twice the size of those lionesses heads. The lioness shown at the beginning of the video is absolutely huge as well, she is a lot bigger than the other lionesses walking near her. Birmingham pride sure does grown some big ones.
