The white male and female from the Birmingham pride - Just posting separate pics - The whole Pride is there, including Ross males 11-28-20 Sunset Drive

Here's the video of the pictures you posted. I thought that was BYM in that line, in the third picture down, but couldn't tell for sure until I saw the video in which you can see his limp. His head is enormous, it is almost twice the size of those lionesses heads. The lioness shown at the beginning of the video is absolutely huge as well, she is a lot bigger than the other lionesses walking near her. Birmingham pride sure does grown some big ones.

Thank you for sharing such a great video. I'll watch it right now. The BYM (Osindile) has grown into a massive and bulky young male. Let's hope he will start to wander alone once for all. Some of the Birmingham females will be in estrus and the Ross males will become even more aggressive with BYM. Some interesting times ahead on Ngala

On this sighting, his limp got worse again.. This limp will be permanent, prob something like his half brother DM has.. So his life as solo nomadic lion would be extremly harsh and prob impossible..

Yea he can wander around for few days as he did into Manyeleti, but for long period of time i think thats not gonna work..

The obvious limp seen in that video is still very concerning for BYM will have a very difficult time hunting or defending himself if he were to leave. I had thought it had gotten a bit better, in fact we've seen some videos where his gate isn't as severe. But, this video shows it can still be very problematic for him, and that doesn't bode well for his future prospects imo. I truly hope I'm wrong, but I am, again, unsure if he can actually survive alone.

The limp of the BYM can improve for a couple of days, but sooner or later can get worse once again.

Exactly, thats a permanent injury, it can get better when leg is not that loaded from hunts and fights, but it would always get worse when he does that things..

Video of the recent pictures posted by @Tr1x24 and @"TinoArmando" Yes, she clearly mentions that BYM was recently attacked by the "Ross Males", and since this is the first I heard of this, it is unclear if she is referring to just one, Tyson, or if we are now seeing new aggression towards him from Fabio as well. If it is indeed both of them, then I am even more concerned for BYM, just as I am shocked that if he was in fact attacked by both of them, why he would remain in the pride. It is almost as if every time he is attacked viciously, he ends up injured to the point of being unable to leave because of his injuries. Several of us recently commented how his limp seems to have gotten bad again, we don't know if this is due to his back leg having been injured even more, or if it could be due to the front paw injury mentioned in the video. So many unknowns right now, but one thing is for certain, the longer BYM continues to remain in the pride, the more unsafe it is for him.

The only thing he has going for him right now, is his incredible size, however he clearly lacks the confidence often attributed to such mass. That is largely due to his young age, as well as the terrible beatings he has suffered from Tyson over the last year. While it is doubtful he could beat Tyson by himself, he most certainly could not defeat both Ross Males.

Here's the video, which also shows most of the rest of the pride, including the white male and female. While they both show signs of recent injuries, the female has two very large cuts on top of her head. For his age, the white male is exceptionally large as well, just like BYM in that regard.

Thank you very much for sharing this video @BA0701 tough times to comes on Ngala for the BYM and the other sub-adults.
Fabio and Tyson are spending much time together lately, As well seems that Fabio has showed his dominance to Tyson, already more than 2 times during mock mating between them.

We found one of the dominant male lions AndBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserve  after hearing him calling for his brother and he gifted us with this incredible walk by. Shortly after the two brothers met up and continued on their way to patrol the vastness of their territory. Great find by our guide Daniel Fiser

I dont think "mock" mating is sign of dominance..

Thats misinterpreted act, when that happens lions are very relaxed and cuddly with 0 agression, also in most cases, less dominant male is mounting the more dominant one, its prob just reinforcing bond between them and nothing else.. Thats my opinion..

For the Fabio and Tyson, Birmingham females are coming to estrus again soon, they will be spending more time close to the pride and be more agressive towards the young male.

That fight prob happened around the carcass or he came to close to females , but its nothing too serious..

Through the years,I have read that the mock mating is a sign of dominance,And,Often, of terms of reinforcing their social bonds.
Obviously,This behavior can be understanded of two ways.

As we know that the oldest of 7 young males (was not here on this sighting) is definitely sired by Avoca/Giraffes, he 4+ yrs old, and 3 youngest are definetly sired by Ross males (As they are similar age of White male from original pride and his brothers, they look even younger) its still uncertain who sired 3 middle males, as they look to be around 3 yrs old and born around the time when shift between Avoca/Giraffes and Ross males happened, so it can be both..

I think that coalition of 7 is very unlikely, because age difference is too big between the males, i dont think those older males will wait 3 younger ones as they seem to be ready for nomadic life soon.. Prob a coalition of 4 and 3 is more likely (ofc if all survive to that point)..
