I am not that much concerned about Othawa youngsters as i am for Hairy Belly.. They are 4, they already actively participate in hunts and Junior is already quite ready for solitary life (he is big as those Tumbela males, and he is around 2 yrs younger then them) , they will prob run away if the takeover happens, and young female will prob return to the pride after some time..

For Hairy Belly is lose lose situation, if he stays he risks badly injury and death, and if he runs away chances of surviving on his own are quite slim..

Yeah i doubt that HB  can managed a 3v1 actually he has loss a lot of condition (muscle and size) due his age,he doesn't is the same that once was.

At this stage I'm much concerned by Junior (who is the last male son of the Majingilane) and the Othawa sub-adults which also are the last offspring of the Matimba males,In my opinion HB has lived a very longer live and he is done as dominant male.

Hello my friends, looks like Hairy Belly is doing well. He is moving pretty fine.

Othawa males vs Nkuhuma males - September 2011

Mapogo sons vs Nkuhuma sons (Like father,Like son)
Our second morning at Sabi Sands we came across a second pair of male lions, who appeared to have fought overnight with the pair we previously saw. This lion had a deep, still bleeding, puncture wound in his left side and appeared to have narrowly avoided being castrated. He also had a severe limp

An epic old sighting of the Four Birmingham males kill three Buffalo on a day at Djuma Private Game Reserve!
The Birmingham males have a reputation for being great buffalo hunters. on this occasion they hunted three big buffalo on a day. However, they once hunted about 5 in one day!
Isn't that amazing?

They once hunted 7 in one night and all 5 ate at their own. They have a reputation as incredible buffalo hunters. Even in the recent episode of 'on the beat in the Manyelethi' the guide mentions that the Mbiri males and 1 Nharu kind of reminded him of the Birmingham Boys who would bring down massive buffalo and were incredible hunters.

Who fathered the sand rivers males and did they let a legacy behind them ?
And who is the Souther/Talamti males ? Selati sons and where are they ?
(Sorry my english)

Southern/Talamati coalition is a coalition of 3 males in total from which 2 are born in Talamati pride and sired by Salati males and the thir male comes from Southern pride and is fathered most likely by Fourways males.

About Sand River males you can read there:
