What do you mean? Why are Styx not good enough for N'ws? Styx desperatly need stability, and N'ws will do that.

The Styx are great for them (and they are definitely good for the Styx) but eventually with four males they can have a larger territory and more prides under them. Just thinking of previous coalitions of 4 and how much territory/prides they controlled.

Oh my god, smh. This is embarrassing and not just for James Tyrell. Do people think Lions age is different than humans? Just because the Bboys are speculated to be born in 2010 doesn't mean they turn 10 when 2020 starts lmao. They turn on the day they are born just like us. A Ngala ranger once said the other 5 Birminghams were 6 months younger than Nsuku. I'm not sure how accurate he was but based on his word the other 5 were at least born mid 2010 to late 2010 or maybe even 2011. So for all we know Nhenha just turned 10 and Tinyo is still 9. People look at Tinyo who is actually younger than Nhenha who has a bear face with lots of scars and think they are old. But Nhenha is still looking like he is in his prime. The Guides actually believe Nhenha is the younger of the 2. No Nhenha and Tinyo are only 10 now. By the end of next year, we can be 100% sure they are in the 11th year or almost there.

They have time, they are only around 5 yrs old..

Ofc that they will try to expand after some time. But Styx are great beginning pride for them until they "mature" and become more confident.

Agree, except Nsuku, Bboys are prob born in late 2010, or even early 2011. Nhenha and Tinyo are looking too good to be that old..

Also, Mhangeni male? I mean yes he meant Nkuhuma but cmon..

@Gijima  I don't think alot of people understand how lions extend territories so let me explain. Firstly, the N'waswitshaka are not nomads that pitch up in an area and takeover anymore, they are pride males. So if they try to take more territory from other males they will be either extending territory or abandoning the territory they hold now. When lions extend territory, they are basically pushing their borders in a specific direction by roaring and scent marking. Basically taking ownership. The N'waswitshaka have not gone further north since the Bboys chased them. Over the last few months, they have been seen in East Lions Sands and Kirkmans Kamp and yesterday were at the South Western corner of Mala Mala. Which coalition does this belong to? The Southern Avocas. With the angle the Birminghams territory is from the N'waswitshaka, it's very unlikely they try to take from the Birmingham Boys. The most they can take is Northern Sabi Sabi and maybe Umkumbe but taking over Eastern Londolozi and Mala Mala is very unlikely unless they get through the S Avocas first. The Birminghams core territory is just too far north and too much at an angle. But the N'waswitshaka are not even making a move on the Birminghams, the Birminghams probably instilled fear in them when they chased them, not saying that won't change but it is extremely unlikely they take Birmingham territory from them. The N'waswitshaka are not going to pitch up in Central Mala Mala and fight the Bboys for territory when they have a territory in the far south west of that location.

Princess Tsalala. Nhenha has the most beautiful cubs of each gender. Both the Torchwood Male and this little princess are very beautiful lions. Pretty Girl has done an amazing job bringing her up

So there are 3 younger females left not 4?

There are 4, but 1 is not with the pride, female who has been with Nkuhuma young males..

I am pretty sure that Londolozi in one of their blogs about month ago claimed that they seen entire Nkuhuma pride with 8 females in total. I do not really track Wild life safaris tho and so I am confused. As far as I remember that female was returning to natal pride even through she spent most of their time then with Nkuchuma pride. Am I wrong?

Avocas are to the east from N'was, Birmingham are to the north from N'was. N'was do not need at all to go through Avocas in order to challange Birminghams for their territory.

They are on the beggining of their prime. They most likely have desire to expand (just basing on their age and coalition numbers, rest is yet to be seen) or at least will have when they will be done mating with 3 Styx females. Moreover coalition of 2 is rather not somethink coalition of 4 should fear.

I'm talking about distance and angle. When the Bboys started to take over the South, they didn't immediately go west for the Majingilane territory. They went south and chased out the S Avoca and Matshipiri and then spread out west and further south west. Why didn't they immediately just go west? Because it makes no sense, Lions don't just go for any territory they want, their territories need to join up. The Birminghams are not directly north of the N'waswitshaka. The N'waswitshaka can't take over Central Sabi Sand and keep an awkward corner in the south as a part of their territory. They need to be able to defend and patrol every corner of their territory.

We will have to see their next move offcourse but if you look at recent dynamics, the N'waswitshaka have only been moving east into Avoca territory. Kirkmans Kamp, Lion Sands and now Southern Mala Mala. They have not gone north after Bboys chased them. That's the truth. The chase must have played a part.

Two of the Mhangeni lionesses recline on a beach in the Sand River. With the Othawa male - the resident pride male of the Mhangeni pride - having been seen way out of his normal territory recently mating with one of the Ntsevu lionesses, the lion dynamics on Londolozi are heating up.
