They have been living a really tough life since the Gijimas appeared and the N'was abandonned them to be with Kambulas. Hopefully, all the cubs can make it to adulthood so they can rebuild the oldest pride in Sabi Sands.

Unfortunately, no one knows exactly which cubs belong to which of the Styx Lionesses.  Even for Floppy Ears, nobody is 100% sure.  We just know he's from either the B'ham daughter or the Rollercoaster one....but not from the Majig. daugter because she had the youngest offspring, and he's now over 2.  I believe there are either 2 or 3 younger than 2, while the others are all 2.2 years old.  I'm not even sure which of the 2 lionesses had 4 cubs/litter and which one had only 3, since there were 11 total.  Maybe someone else here knows about this a bit more.  It's great, though, that over half the offspring have reached a couple of years of age when they were abandoned too young....(esp. for the youngest litter). 7/11 surviving is pretty good considering.... Too bad that 3 of the males were killed.  I hope there are at least 2 left and not just one male!

I was extremely excited to finally have another Styx coalition but this time a big one 5 males but sadly one 2 remain and luckily 5 girls remain which means the pride will return to what is used to be hopefully

Injured bull giraffe had a run in with the Styx Pride. The pride showed interest but eventually the lionesses decided against it.

"When we heard vocalising lions very close to Selati Camp, we did not waste any time and rushed to the direction we thought the lions were calling. A short distance from the lodge, we found some fresh lion tracks, and shortly after, we found the lions in a riverbed chasing some wildebeest. As the lions assembled after a failed chase, we noticed that two lionesses and one sub-adult male from the pride were not there, but later we found them about 2 km away from the rest of the pride.

The Styx Pride has not been in our area for some time and finding them today was a joy for everyone. There have been a lot of male lion tracks in the reserve lately, and we all think, at some point, they will meet up with the Styx Pride if they did not already do so last night, as the pride was separated into two groups. The young male lion in the Styx Pride could face some difficult times if the big male lions decide to join the pride."

Majingilane Styx female was seen mating with Gijima male.

Looks like crucial moments for future of Ndhzegas Styxs offspring (and Styx pride in general) is starting now, with 2 adult mothers coming back to estrus and prob accepting Gijima males as new territorial coalition.

"Luckly" for 5 or 6 sub females, Gijimas, atleast towards Southern Pride sub females, didnt show agression and accepted them, hope it will be the same in this case.

As for 1 or 2 sub males (i think its not yet solved if Floppy Ear is only surviving male), time will start to become hard, unless he/they form some kind of breakaway with sisters and avoid Gijimas together for time being.

Even in that scenario, majority of 7 subs are well over 2 yrs old (few months to 2.5), so they shouldnt have problem surviving on their own.

I’m saddened to report very sad news to share coming from Umkumbe

If anyone has ID of this lion?    It is believed he has killed a young member of the Styx Pride.    A female.

Is this a Kambula?   It was said he was accompanied by a female.   @Tr1x24 Do you recognize?

Sorry for the graphic image
