A couple of things,
Does anybody have info on T12's Translocation and weight? Any pictures of him with a female would help as well.

Also, I'm disapointed that the stigma that "we just post pictures without knowing any of the tigers or giving credit to where it deserves" exists, but I think if these gaurds actually gave places like this a chance, they would enjoy it. We obvioulsy have done tons of research over the years, collected as much data as we can, this place should be used as a refuge for tiger enthusists not a scape goat.

Check out T12.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2e8I6kgS4Jw

I will say this, he doesn't look very robust, but he is obviously a tall tiger and definitely seems larger than 170kg.
What do you guys think?

Here is T12 meeting T17, T12 is definitely the larger tiger, watch at 6:12 for a good comparison.

T17 was similar size to T18, correct? So we have got to assume that T12 is larger than 170kg, but maybe not. He certainly doesn't seem much larger than her though.

Quote:I appreciate your enthusiasm for tigers, but since this is a page dedicated to Kanha tigers, I don't wish to prolong the discussion, which is already off-topic. But re Ranthambore tigers, I'm sure the weight quoted for T-12 was incorrect, as T-18 was 170 kg when she was relocated, and she's about 1/2 the size of T-12 appearance-wise. A lot of people put irresponsible info on the internet and I can understand how you came across them. And I can point out to you one of the biggest sources of misinfo on tiger is a website called animalvsanimal.yuku.com where users constantly put in tiger photos without copyright acknowledgement and debate about individual tigers whom they know nothing about, like they know everything about them. Sites and people like that insult the tigers and are a disgrace IMO. In any case, no one knows about Ranthambore tigers better than Tiger trackers, who has documented just about all tigers of Ranth already and then some. If you have any question re Ranth tigers, including of T-18 and T-12, you can find tiger Trackers here:

"who's posting all this information", that's right "ME" .. LMAO sit down kid, I've posted more information about Tigers than you probably have pubes.

I already posted the kzt to waghdoh comments and the asianbuffalo comments, as well as comments from 5 other people. You can latch on to one person's comments all you want, it doesnt change the fact that there are 5 others from other people that say it as well.

I disagreed with you in regards to Patewala and Naak Male in which you originally said "munna was the largest tiger in Kahna" then you tried to claim them as larger, I posted numerous people, photos, videos and eye witness accounts that said you were wrong.

Lastly, don't be a moron. "LMAO sit down kid, I've posted more information about Tigers than you probably have pubes."
Notice once again, you are doing nothing more than acting like a child.
Stop getting defensive, I have said many times that you know way more about indian tigers than me, but it has nothing to do with weights, eye witness accounts, videos, pics etc...
You are not the only person that works with them, in fact you are unknown to us, your claims are no more genuine than any others, so stop being so sensitive and just have a actual conversation or don't, its up to you. But keep your moronic "pube" jokes to yourself, thanks.

And btw, Im using indiantigerwatch, tigertrackers, tigersofkahna, tigerwalah, kanwar and multiple other photogrophers eye witness accounts, safari sightings and personal experiences from them, video, photography etc..
You never are reasonable, you show jay with a female, waghdoh with a female, saturn and gabbar and katezari all looking very close in size and weight, all looking close to many of the claims posted, and you just neglect to discuss it. I post munna matching up every inch with jai or saturn with females, I have posted my conversations which I specifically state factually evidence of a tigers length being a better way to determine weight, usually, defending waghdohs size with evidence, etc. I'm being very reasonable here and I am certainly showing a ton of evidence that I have found!

Ok guys no more kiddish insults.
You both are too good for this.
Now that you both have presented the info, it upto others to decide.
Anymore good info on this topic is always appreciated.
Eventhough this thread is about Munna, there is some good discussion and good info on other tigers as well.

I agree with both apollo and sanjay. It was never my intention to have a confrontation, I thought I did a good job of providing valid information with no bias behind any of it. I did get drawn into debates with copters but it was for rebuttaling or providing other information that was needed or usefull. This thread title is already misleading and I simply wanted to provide as much info as possible and let the other members give their opinions with out the "overrated" mentality being involved.
I will keep it about the tigers

WOW
Ive never seen any video of T12 before, he looks to be a tall tiger.
Ranthambore tigers are said to be tall specimens in general when compared to Madhya Pradesh tigers.
Yes T17 and T18 were similar sized tigresses and T12 definitely looked much bigger than T17 and heavier.
So I too think the 170Kg for T12 male could be a typo error.

@Pckts have you tried messaging Tiger Trackers regarding this issue ?

Here are two more vids of T12

I just sent them a message regarding T12s weight. I will let you know once I receive a reply.
But he is definitely larger than T17 and lets say she is 170kg as well, I would put him around 200-210kg, what do you think?

Saturn's injuries from the fight, sadly people weren't able to get Leopard face's snaps but most believed Saturn had Leopard on the death-grip.

Tourists intervene in cat fight at Tadoba reserve

To be at the right spot at the right time is what every tiger lover hopes for. Nagpur resident Vishal Chaudhari, 38, who operates a resort witnessed a fight between two male tigers in the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district on November 25. Tadoba has around 43 tigers.

"It was my 55th safari in Tadoba over 12 years and I have sighted around 30 tigers so far. But what unfolded before me is every wildlife lover's dream. My friends, Gulshan Chaudhari and Rajendra Lakudkar, two others and I were in a gypsy on the Kosekanar Road near Jamni area. The first tiger whose name we do not know was sitting on the eastern side of the road. Suddenly, the second tiger named Leopard Face or Gabbar appeared from the west side and walked past our gypsy," he narrates. "Leopard Face crossed the road, roared and challenged the bigger male. A roaring match went on for a few minutes and we thought it may not lead to a fight. But soon both stood on their hind legs, face-to-face and the battle of Tadoba started."

"After a few minutes of pawing, I could see that they had each other's throat in their jaws. It was a death-lock which lasted for 20 seconds and blood was oozing. I was sure that one of them would die. I asked my guide if we could do anything to save them. He said no. Though tourists are advised to remain silent and not disturb wildlife, I deliberately began shouting at the two gypsies ahead of us to move. I told my friends to shout as well," he admits. "The ruse worked. The tigers got confused and walked away. A tiger means a lot to us."

"There are three possible reasons for the fight. Leopard Face was mating with Tigress P2 from Pandharpaoni area. The tigress would have marked her scent and the first tiger would have been attracted to it; the area 'belongs' to Leopard Face. Also, it had made a kill earlier and the fight might have been to ensure that the first tiger did not snatch his meal. Or, it could have been a fight to establish territory."

Gabbar has put some serious mass on since that fight and Gabbar seems slightly taller (could be the angle) and not quite thick. I would bet that Gabbar is the bigger cat now. I haven't seen many recent saturn pics though, but Gabbar is a big boy now.

Just threw this together rather quickly, konda, munna, banda, out of them all munna is the least impressive, and the picture of konda is 2006,three years before his death.

I'm rather busy now, will post more of my thoughts later, he is a very nice looking tiger, tall, but when it comes to compact and muscular, he is not very impressive as some other tigers are.

Here is munna with tigress, different pictures and angles show better results.

is this konda? I know his small stipes on his head are bold black and munna has CAT spelled.

Thanks for reading, post more pictures pckts, can you do comparson or maybe ask guate to do konda munna for a great result.
