There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Majingilane male, Sabi Sands South Africa, one of four now ageing but still dominant males.

They have been hugely successful males to date, raising a significant number of offspring to adulthood.

Battle hardened and wily veterans that are just a bit past their prime but pretty darn formidable.

There is something incredibly intimate in the way predator interacts with their kill . Nature is violent and pretty gruesome , however this big male lion makes the process seem like a communion of two souls

We shall be lucky if we see Hipscar again -
He has come back from the death in the past though.
But my suspicion is that the other 3 have given up on him - he does not want to patrol - he just want to stay with the females and take his chances when the others are away.
