There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Do not insert images from wbesite like facebook

I am seeing many users here directly insert images from facebook (and some other websites). In my opinion it is not good way and is not recommended, why?

1. Facebook sometime change the storage location and hence url of image is changed. So in this case your images do not show on WildFact after some times.

2. Users often delete the images or close their account on facebook and hence you will see broken link of images on WildFact.

3. Facebook, sometime block other website like WildFact to let them show the images by inserting link of images directly from their website.

If you want that your images is shown here forever, try to upload them instead (http://wildfact.com/forum/topic-how-to-upload-image) Or upload it to one image hosting service.

I am seeing that many images from lots of posts start disappearing. It certainly take little effort but worth of it.

Thank you for the support Rofl
I would recommend imgur, it is best and WildFact uses it when you upload images using the black i icon. http://imgur.com/

Read these blogs, they have suggested some good option

Agreed.

One thing to note, though.

Sometimes, this feature of the "broken image" also appears from images uploaded from my own computer, no idea why.

It is becasue sometime your ISP unable to open the image hosting website, in this case Imgur.  To check and confirm, open imgur website separately in a new browser tab. If it also do not open then this mean your ISP currently unable to show website.
Though this is temporary problem and happens to almost every ISP.

Pckts, currently the image hosting server imgur has some problem.
You can try following
1. Visit imgur.com and upload the images there, get the direct image link and use image insert feature here. OR
2. Visit http://postimage.io/ upload images there, get the direct link and use image insert feature here.
