From what I notice Assam region tigers seem to have less vibrant stripe patterns, especially around the front portion of their body, but the coloration of them is a bit harder to tell. Some photographers will adjust their shots to make the tigers color more vibrant or less, just depends.
I know that northern Indian tigers also seem to have a less vibrant coat and stripe pattern as well.

They are not shy, just that the tall elephant grass and the semi evergreen forests gives them a nice cover to hide. On on this day, we were extremely lucky to spot him relaxing by a water hole, and then he came out of the bushes and started walking on the road, patrolling his territory. Simply in love with Grassland Tiger habitat ! Due to tall elephant grasses there was just a small opening from where i could make this picture.I had to stand in the Gypzy and take this shot hand-held. That is such a clear image, you never see tigers like that from Kazi. |
