There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

A recent expedition into the Chingaza National Park, in the Colombian Andes showed the presence of cougars in the area. At some point they were thought to have been eradicated from the area due to poaching; however, due to the high density of white tailed deer in the park it seems like a small population is flourishing in the area, judging by the great physique these specimens show. The Chingaza National Park though located at a high altitude in the Andes is also right along the equator, cougars may attain large sizes here due to the already mentioned density of prey items, proving once more that their proximity to the poles has little bearing on the overall morphology they are able to develop. They share the habitat with Andean bears as a sympatric carnivoran, instead of the jaguar.

Llanos specimen crossing a large body of water: the Vichada river, where the Orinoco crocodile can be found, contradicting claims that neotropical big cats wouldn't feel as comfortable in the water as they do if they were sympatric with large crocodiles:
