There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Brotherhood among wild animal is most visible and strong relation. Specially for Lions. Male lion make a relation that last for life time. They are partner in all situation. They share female, their food and territory almost everything.
This relation is also strong among Cheetah male. They live together , hunt together and fight together.
This thread is meant to discuss brotherhood relationship of any wild animal.

Male lions, even unrelated ones can create bonds that last a lifetime too. Some brothers/buddies will risk their life to defend their brother/buddy.
~~This is very graphic and intense. Before Kinky tail and Mr. T died, they were already ijured. He put up one hell of a fight, its amazing how long animals can live during something this devastating. Also shows the great bond brother lions have, Mr. T risked his life against four males to save his brother but by then it was too late, I his spine had not been broken, he could have escaped. Later on, Mr. T met the same fate.
Great thread idea, I will see what I can find.
I always love to see lions who are unrelated who form bonds and even father and sons who do so, while its usually brothers, its not exactly uncommon to see unrelated or father and sons form bonds as well.
I'm not sure how long B1, B2 and B3 stayed together for but here is B3 Psuedo mating B2 to establish dominance while both where still sharing a territory and meals. Both look to be large and close to maturity

I know that T72 still shares a territory with his father, T42 or T24 (I forget which one) and I also remember the doc with machli where her 2 large sub adult cubs left together after she nursed them one last time to keep the new male from killing them.
There is also another report of the two sub adults brothers fighting one male and one of the brothers was killed.
One of the guesses as to how konda died was in a fight with the two Link 7 brothers but that is not confirmed as there are differring opinions on which tiger is actually responsible for the death of Konda.
So while tiger brothers don't form coalitions like lions they do sometimes stay together for long periods of times and even fight together against a common enemy. Even the tigers that just killed the Elephant and other reports of tiger families hunting together. So its rare but not unheard of.

This is the most intense and raw video of fighting lions that I have ever saw. Most (if not all) of the videos end with the injured male(s) running and dying later, but in this one, we can actually see the poor lion disemboweled and mauled at a huge level.
It is a incredible video and we can see how those other lions literally "destroy" they enemies.
Yes guate this is really intense! There is one fight earlier that day aswell when kincky tail and mr.t kills one Majingalane male where they finish him of at The scene! That's one brutal territorial conflict!
T72 is the son of Sultanpur or Ustaad (T-24) and T-39 (noor) so it's no surprise that he gets the protection from his father, after all. T-24 is the baddest male in the tourism zone and is a confirmed man-eater with two deaths linked to him. Apparently, he's on his last chance. one more and he's going to be doomed for life.
As far as Konda goes, he was injured by a poacher's snare a week prior to his death so even if he had a single male battling him for the turf. It's no surprise that he ended up dead. I guess this is really when survival of the fittest comes into play. Konda died, thanks to human interference.
Back on topic, I think the death of Mr.T was the most horrific thing to watch imho.. seeing a male lion being ripped into pieces by a number of large ruthless males is not a good sight, that's for sure. RIP

Poor KT. He gave it all till the end.
Mr.T kept roaring for days after that night. He didn't realized KT was gone and he was still calling him.
I don't believe that even the tiger nor the grizzly could dominate an environment where a brotherhood of lions have laid claim. Force of numbers is a powerful advantage not only in hunting but also in defending one's domain.

One of the things that makes different male lions from other big cats. Other animals present a similar behaviour but I think that Lions are the most impressive. Usually cats are arrogant, cold and individualists, but lions leave this aside(except when lady's are around, and I can't blame them!)and form this long lasting brotherhoods that sometimes have the power to change the dynamics in a big territory.
This are the Styx males. They are sons of the Majingilane males and are cyrrently taking possession of part of the territory left
by their fathers.
