Dangerous for Nsuku to be alone at Nkorho bush lodge while the 3 Avoca boys are around hopefully he joins his brothers soon and I've read that Nhenna was as far west as singita recently , the boys may be down to 3 but they are very formidable still as long as they stick together malamala reported a 3rd kambula lioness has given birth they have a lot of cubs to protect I hope they can endure a while.
That's correct the BBoys seem to be off patrolling on their own now, which is risky considering the three northern Avoca boys are nearby in the north and coming into their own. And you're right; as a trio they still have some power, but you suspect they miss the extra muscle of Mfumo
Credit:Malamala Game Reserve. MALAMALA TODAY: September 7th-10th. It has been an incredible 4 days on the reserve with unforgettable sightings of new lion cubs.... Over the weekend we enjoyed consistently memorable sightings of the 6 cubs and their 2 mothers at Maxim’s Lookout and then at West Street Bridge. We watched the mothers catch an impala and hunt a herd of buffalo near the den. This morning we discovered that a 3rd lioness has given birth! We watched her carry a cub that’s only days old to a den west of Bushbuck Drive. The other 2 mothers then moved their 6 youngsters to a new den in front of Rattray’s Camp this morning. 2 of the Gowrie males have been in the same area and we watched one catch an impala that was accidentally chased towards him by a pack of 3 Cape hunting dogs. Awesome photos tinyo mane is getting darker , love these boys I've followed them since they were nomads they are still in their prime and yes I'm sure they miss the extra muscle mfumo provided I've pondered the numerous possibilities of his absence but it seems to me he's probably perished and that's sad but those things happen unfortunately

If there patrolling on there own, could they be technically looking for Mfumo as well?

Absolutely I think they could be no doubt about it when mfumo 1st started going south when they control the north he would stay gone and they would come south to investigate tinyo and Nsuku would stay back when mfumo and Nhenna would follow around the kambulas back in December and January they too followed their brothers and eventually moved south maybe his absence will bring the 3 closer knowing they don't have him around to help protect their territory , what concerns me more than the Northern Avoca is the sand river pride slowly advancing north they are seen often on malamala now days in western parts of charleston and the mantimahle males will follow I just hope those males don't discover irresistible kambula girls lol they help keep the bboys fed and in great condition but the birminghams have to stay together to fend off a coalition of 3 or more big males

Regarding Mfumo, yes it is as you say, death seems the most likely scenario. But the possibility still exists that he has split from his brothers in much the same way that one of the Mantimahles has. With respect to the threat from the Sand River Pride, I believe it will be many years before the Sand River cubs grow large enough to challenge anyone, unless you're referring to the Mantimahles, which is a threat people have been envisioning for some time, though I suspect there are easier pickings around for them, so probably not. But it's definitely a worry when the BBoys are patrolling on their own. You saw what Nsuku and Scrapper did when they were still young and relatively small and rounded up the big Selati male...

I think is time to we accept that mfumo is dead. He is disappeared for more than 3 months. No signal at all of him. If he was alive just patrolling other areas he would come back to ss already. But not. Thats is too bad cause mfumo was the most iconic bboy.
Now we have to argue how he died. Cause something killed him as he was in his prime. He was killed by buffaloes, other males or poachers. What you guys think which killed him? |
