There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Yes, exactly. Mala mala calls the Matimbas Clarendon males.

From Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve:
The Birmingham male lions were located this morning in Torchwood, along with a lioness, presumably from the Styx pride of lions. The one male was mating with the female, while the others were just resting up. Images by Andrew Khosa

Scott Dyson Safaris:
This lion sure knows how to cast a stare!! Scary thing is he has 4 more coalition members, all of which are proving to be a force to be reckoned with. No other males have disputed their arrival thus far.

Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve:
These two Birmingham Male lions have been spending some time in Torchwood! It's interesting to watch how they are keeping their territory patrolled - as it stands, two were in Buffelshoek, two in torchwood and one south of our southern boundary! Images by Craig Hamilton

Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge:
With the Birmingham males now being the dominant male coalition in the northern Sabi Sand, they have started mating with the resident female prides. The last few days one of the males and a female from the Styx pride had been seen around Chitwa lodge. With the fact that there is a female in oestrus in the area the other males weren't too far behind their brother. The nights are filled with lions roaring all around the lodge. There are few things as special as dinning in the bush with a chorus of lions serenading you.

He had some injuries, probably fighting against his brothers for mating rights.

Another video, this time a couple of minutes longer, but it's worth it, I promise.
One of the Birminghams, the same with the swollen eye, begins to awake, cleans himself a bit and then roars three times. Pieter, the presenter of wildearth, explains a bit of the cadence of the roaring, something that's very interesting. Enjoy.

Well, since the brothers are somewhere else, the royal duties go to the older Blond male. Aahh responsabilities..sometimes are so difficult to fulfill Wink

The fight was 4 days ago. And here is one of the comments:
