There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

The American "lion" Panthera atrox and the Smilodon populator did not coexisted in South America. There is an study that suggest that a skull from the giant jaguar Panthera onca messembrina was in fact Panthera atrox, but Dr Barnett Ross was disagree as he personally made genetic studies on those bones and are 100% jaguars.
About the Arctotherium, I don't have the information yet, but you can investigate a little more in the original documents, take in count the date of the specimens.
