There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Shishangaan Male Lions

On the road again... And surrounded by very numerous cars. Destiny of the extant big parks lions.

" Brothers of Casper the White Lion, Casanova and Footloose, on patrol.
Notice the beautiful mane of Footloose.
The size and coloration of the mane serves as a signal to other lions about the male's fitness, similar to the showiness of the peacock's tail.

That one lioness looked really old. Good for her to be successful to reaching old age.
Who is she?

Video claims that Mfowethu, Casper's brother, is injured and unable to hunt. While I cannot speak to the severity of his injuries, he does appear a little thin, though I don't know that he is in dire straights yet, as demonstrated when he gets up. I know he's been carrying this leg injury for a bit, and is clearly having a hard time keeping up with his brothers. He has a wildebeest, some warthogs, and a few zebra walk within just a few yards of him, and all but the warthogs stop and gaze at him.
