There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Black spot on his hip started to open, same thing happened to Sizanani.
What is interesting, that these black spots are visible and seemingly affect only male lions.
Explanation is, that if it is TB related (which affects respiratory system) that male lions are more prone to it because they are the ones who are giving killing blows to buffalos by neck and mouth (respiratory system).
But im not sure thats correct tbh, lionesses are doing same thing, in fact, they are main hunters for their prides, unlike dominant male who mostly scavange.
This "black spot" bothers me so much, as we pretty much have 0 knowledge what it is, but it affects more and more male lions.
