There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
It’s been a while since we last saw Casper, Footloose, Mfowethu, and Casanova—the Shishangaan Coalition that rules the Satara Lion Pride all together. This could be one of their final appearances together. They’ve been spotted off the S100, near the Nwanetsi River and Shibotwana Waterhole, about 9 km from their usual territory near Satara Rest Camp in Kruger National Park.
A few weeks ago, park veterinarians tested the brothers for bovine tuberculosis (TB). Sadly, Mfowethu and Casanova tested positive, and their condition is worsening. Casper, the white lion, and Footloose are currently TB-free, but their future remains uncertain as the coalition faces an uncertain fate.
