Here is a longer version of the PC males v's Tumbela. A good view of how they were stealth watching him before starting to move in for the attack.

From what I understand Jr had seen both PC Boys and basically just stopped and laid down/ didn't run. Weather or not he was roaring or not I don't know.  Then we see here what happened. They must have been hanging just watching him for a bit.

In the Scar video of the incident, you can see Skorro Jr laying on his side with his head up, he looks behind himself, directly at the PCMs, and then he lays his head down and closes his eyes, then they begin their approach. The entire thing is so strange, his lackadaisical attitude towards two XL males creeping up on him, or even just being very close and looking directly at him, and their seeming to go fairly easy on him. What I'd like to see is what happened after they stood in front of him roaring, did the PCMs simply walk away and leave him on the airstrip, did Jr walk off, it is clear he wasn't going to run away or at least out run them, did he simply lay back down? So many questions, I'm hoping to see an after action report, though I doubt it will add any clearer understanding of the strange dynamics between these three males.

Just saw what you're referring to. Skorro saw them in advance and he didnt give a fudge about it. Turned his head around and went for a nap then i guess the pcboys kind of say eff it too and gave him this "beating". Which i find it kind of funny because it seems both parties seems to did not give too sh1t about each other presence initially.

Yesterday there was footage on an instagram feed of Skorro Jr moving very fast after the incident with the PC Males. You could see a small wound near the lump on his left hip but seemed he couldn't put full weight on his left leg when trying to run. He was moving fast but more like a trot and sometimes trying to run but had issues with left leg so continued as a fast trot etc.

There's a video showing Tumbela running and PCM lying on the airstrip, they let him go.

I posted it in the Tumbela thread.

Plains Camp Males moments before they found the Tumbela male.

You can see the hunger in their eyes.

I just come to discover this short video showing under different angles the Tumbella male being attacked by the Plains Camp males.

" This educational video covers the current lion dynamics of the Western Sabi Sand. The duo known as the Plains Camp Males and The Tumbela Male have come across each other over the past few months. "

Just something I've noticed and curious about. As we call male lions and coalitions  their natal pride followed by "Boys" we also call them by the name of the pride they take over followed by "males". It is well known on the lion world to do this. So my question.... why does everyone call them PC "males"?  Its clearly a wrong name to describe them. They should be called Plains Camp "Boys". Just my observation, probably not the most important thing anyone thinks of. Ill continue to calle them PC "Boys" tho.

There arent really any rules for naming male coalitions. Its just whatever sticks.
Often its just the name of their natal pride with some extras added to it like boys, males or Jr. But there have also been coalitions named after the circumstances of their appearance like the Tumbellas and Gijimas, some common characteristic or location. Some have even be named after popstars and pop culture references or the like. Like the Six Musketeers.

"Males" and "Boys" are interchangeable terms. There are plenty of coalitions that are named after their natal prides, followed by "Males". ie. Mbiri Males, Shishangaan Males, Avoca Males, Black Dam Males, etc.
