There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Halftail was injured and vets treated him when he lost part of his tail.

Saningo left Enkoyunai Pride with his 5 brothers. 4 showed up at Offbeat 1st (Lenkoe, Jicho, Enkong'u, and Mwana) followed by Saningo, much later, and he had lost his tail. Doda never showed up. So something happened out in their nomad days causing Doda to disappear and Saningo to loose his whole tail. Nobody knows.

Come to think on it now, maybe something between MNC, OMC, and Lemek have something to do with lions loosing their tails as Saningo and Kini both similar area and tail totally gone. Could be total coincidence too.

Kini must have been caught as he also has injuries on his back. Im not sure how long ago as no updates from Lemek or The 3 Sankai boys in over 1 month.

A lot of Lemek is closed off. Rangers are at the boundaries and only let a certain of vehicles pass through. I didn't get an answer on exactly why but my guess is grazing of livestock or possible controlled burns of the tall grass? I really don't know except parts are closed just like in The Reserve in Maji Ya Fisi.

Remember, Poaching has been documented and does happen in the outer reaches of the Massai Mara. Known lions have been poached and snared in Lemek and Olarro. 1 of the Rekero Boys caught in a snare, Green Eyes.  FAMOUS lion was poached in Lemek in 2020-2021, I forget who.

Speculation on my behalf....

So maybe they poached Kini tail for Chinese or Indian medicine? Maybe? Maybe lion fight and was chewed off? Nobody knows or if they do they don't share that information .
