"A mountain lion displays the Flehmen response in the Angeles National Forest. This is when the lion wants to take in a scent and they use the vomeronasal organ or Jacobson’s organ, located above the roof of their mouth to do so. This male lion right here is checking out a scrape most likely left by a different male lion a week earlier."
