Nkhulu boys launched an attack on the Sand River pride and killed one of the cubs
Lokender Charan on fb:
"This morning, five of the Nkhulu coalition, thirsty for power and dominance, ventured into the territory of the Sand River Pride. They managed to catch one of the cubs, resulting in a tragic loss, while the rest of the pride narrowly escaped. It's worth noting that this cub was within their grasp. A few weeks ago, it is believed there was another altercation with the two Southern Avoca male lions, who are the dominant males of this pride. In the aftermath, one of the Southern Avoca males was spotted injured, and the fate of the other remains uncertain, suggesting that he might have also succumbed during that fierce battle. Very sad to watch that, but also it's real and natural, and it must be accepted as an essential part of the wild life".

Interesting, this is the first I have heard it mentioned that there was an altercation between the Nkhulus and the S Avocas, and an implication that it may have resulted in the injured S Avoca and cause of the missing one. Only altercation between the two groups I am aware of resulted in Dreadlocks being badly mauled, and I am not sure he has been seen since just a few days after that, and I am not sure the 6th Nkhulu has been seen since then as well..
Iirc all 6 Nkhulus and DeLaporte are accounted for.
It might be my impression but currently Nkhulus are seen more consistently together and after the fight with Avocas, DeLaporte was seen multiple times with a young male and just very recently was seen with other Nkhulus again.
It'd be interesting to see if the coalition will split at some point. It'd certainly be a good thing for whoever will have to face Nkhulus in the future.

Ok, then that is good. Last I recall, was Dreadlocks being seen for a few days after the fight, when it seemed he was healing, then I didn't hear much on him since. As for a possible split, I would imagine there will be one at some point, 7 is a lot of males to maintain, even for a really large pride.

Sorry fella, I can't tell you whether this is true information/based on any facts, after all, as it was written, the short text was written by a Facebook user, whether it was reliable information or not its another story...
For this reason I edited the post and removed such speculations

I root for the best for the 6 young males + Dreadlocks. I hope they thrive for several years in Southern Sabi Sand.
And certainly the recipe for this does not lie in spliting, the best thing for them would be to remain in great numbers, similar to their fathers.
(I know that 5th moved away, but there remained 4 strong lions united on the other side)
