"[...] a little bit of contact calling happened and then out of nowhere 'this' male lion just came running out of the bush hit it down into the river and as he got there stoppped in his tracks and we watched two other male lions cross the river. So ended up being at least 4 members of the Nkhulu coalition and we saw 5 male lions so they were definitly chasing a lion, im just not sure which one [...]"
im wondering if thats from this morning as he says or from the Nkhulu x Gijima confrontation earlier this month...
"Nkuhlu Coalition is back...and they're making some noise
For the first time in a while, the Nkuhlu coalition was spotted. After hearing lion audio for the last two days, it was only a matter of time before something happened. On a morning safari, contact calling was heard from afar. Suddenly, a male lion passed the vehicle heading towards the river, followed by more lion audio.
Further inspection revealed two male lions crossing the river and the first lion running away. It was unclear if they were all from the same coalition as four members of the Nkuhlu coalition were followed, roaring and highly mobile, possibly on the trail of another lion. What a morning!"

That could spell problems for many a coalition, especially those nearest, namely the Gijimas. Hopefully the guides will be keeping a close eye on the proceedings. It is great to see them all together though, and seeming to act with a purpose.
Haven't seen anything on whom the other male lion was but did read that he was seen on top of a hill roaring after being chased across the river. Going off of that, I'd bet that it was one of the Gijima males. Don't really see any unknown male opting to roar in the area of two established coalitions.

That is my guess as well, especially given other recent events.

indeed. Interesting times ahead.
Im wondering if the lion the Nkuhlus chased could've been S.Avoca, since he has recently left the usual "deep" south and was seen in Dulini with Mangheni pride and Tumbela male on a carcass.

I hadn't considered that, but indeed it does make sense. S Avoca ended up in WS for some reason.
