Not really actually. Looking at what they achived past 2013 when they split (so not counting takeovers of Torchwood and Koppies prides), Northern Matimbas manage to takeover only one pride (Skorro) while their southern brothers tookover briefly Styx and Kambula prides and for longer Tsalala and Othawa prides. On top of thed they were mating and could potentially sire some cubs in Mhangeni pride. Also Southern Matimbas stick to power for longer peroid of time and survived to much older age so they seem all around more succesfull to me.

Tbh Northern Matimbas seem even more unlucky. I would argue that competition Nothern Matimbas faced was more formidable than Birminghams were. Avoca/Giraffes had more numbers coampared to Birminghams and had almost at a peak age 2 massive males to lead them - old Avocas. Reply
