There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

NEW FOOTAGE OF MANED WOLF PUPS IN IBERÁ PARK

''Our strategic partners, @Rewilding_Argentina, continue to get amazing images of the elusive maned wolf!  The camera traps placed where Malevo and Preta, a mated pair of maned wolves, are raising their cubs continue to reveal information about the habits of  South America's largest canid. The photos and video may be the first ever captured showing interactions between maned wolves and their pups in the wild!

Both parents take part in protecting and feeding the little maned wolves. Now that the pups are old enough to eat meat, Malevo and Preta spend long hours hunting, leaving the pups alone to play and sleep by themselves.

This video shows the arrival of Preta after a hunting expedition. She summons her pups with a sharp cry and nurses them, then regurgitates the remains of a recent kill for them to eat.

Until only a few decades ago, the maned wolf's range spanned a large part of Argentina, from northern Patagonia to the borders with Brazil and Paraguay. Today, the species is only found in a few northern & central provinces, with only isolated sightings to the south of central Argentina. Recuperating maned wolf populations is critical to restoring natural habitats in Argentina.''
