There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I also personally believe Xikukitsus were sired by Avoca/Giraffe Males and not Ross Males. Also what’s going on with Lillydale, he looks very thin in that recent video. Is it due to lack of food and mating or is something else going on there?

Also believe that the Xikukutsu Males are sired by the Avoca/Giraffe Males as they really have that Avoca/Giraffe face.

Seems like mating, lions tend to be thinner when they are done with the deed.

Looks like the Mbiri males are abandoning the Birmingham pride.

Ngala says that although they are spending lots of time in Ngala, they haven't seen the males with the pride in a long time, instead they are spending their time with those 2 females from the new breakaway pride.

I'd bet they are spending time with the Mbiri pride as well.

The Birmingham pride had a clash a few weeks ago and Ngala mentions the presence of another male lion in the area.

Southern BDM was attacked. Hope this didn't escalate.

SBDM did really well during that conflict, the way he managed to avoid all those swipes and position himself so he was always facing head on with his attackers. Not suggesting it was a full on serious fight by any stretch but still a good example of how lions are able to defend themselves even when up against multiple opponents.

Isn't this male Dark Mane Mantimahle and in such case it would probably be a Fourways pride, not Plains Camp?

According to Stephanie's comments on the video, and to @Ngonya, they are the Matzhiti/Tshokwane males, and it was filmed in Kruger, which is why I posted the video there, earlier.

Source video:

I feel bad for 2 SBDMs, they had such a potential when they came in SS, become territorial, but fell apart, split, and now are just roaming around.

Not sure where is young Avoca.

This is not far from northern SS where other SBDM is, hope they link again.

Sorry guys, I didn't realize this was posted somewhere else. @Potato I just follow the video because I'm not good at recognizing lions.

No worries, it happens, we've all done it. However, you should probably go ahead and delete that post, as it seems to be causing some confusion. Thanks, my friend!
