Yes, only older 3 Myambula females gave birth so far, but according to ranger from RockFig, the younger Myambula females (Mbiri daughter) are mating as well so there will be probably much more cubs in not distant future. Myambula pride will be massive pride soon.
That's awesome. Definitely the Mayambula pride is going to be a massive pride. With the current number of females, the cubs will grown in good condition
@"Timbavati" Wasn't there 4 adult females in the Mayambula Pride when the Mbiri Boys first took over or am I mistaken? I didn't want to have to go back through the whole thread, but I thought they initially had the 2 Zebenine females and 4 Mayambulas.

It is not small chance as such "coincidence" happens quite often in the lion world. Tintswalos took over bassicly in same time Orpens passed away, same with succession of Mapozas from Trilogy. MOhawk Matshapiri wasn't even dead yet when Avocas already sensed vacum of power in the arena. Avoca/Giraffes also took territorys from Thanda Impis right after Sizanani's passing away. I could go with those examples on and on as it is general think in male lion world that the vacum of power does not least for long at all and there is bassicly always some coalition around...
The most similar situations among the ones cited are the Hercules/Sumatra vs Monwanas and S. Avocas vs Matshapiris. The other two "takeovers" are much less similar. Hercules/Sumatra may or may not have actually fought to takeover a territory. The S. Avocas were willing to fight but couldn't catch the healthy brother. The Tintswalos didn't need to fight as their natal pride lands were vacant. If all or most of the Avoca/Giraffes had actually caught the Thandi Impis it most likely would have resulted in their death, but that never happened. The A/Gs kind of "won," but (only land, no lionesses). If I'm forgetting something, let me know.
TL/DR info below:
-Hercules/Sumatra were ousted from their previous territory and had become nomadic. The Monwanas had one healthy brother and one injured brother. It is very possible that H/S killed the healthy Monwana. It's also very possible that the healthy Monwana was gored by a buffalo or kicked in head by a giraffe before getting chewed up by some hyenas. We don't know for sure. End result: There was possibly a conflict. Maybe not. Either way the helathy Monwana died, the injured Monwanan went nomadic, and H/S took over the the pride and territory.
-The S. Avocas did happen upon a beneficial situation, but they still needed to challenge a territorial male in his prime (and his dying brother). We know the middle and end of the conflict, but no one saw the first contact. Did the healthy Matshapiri initially stand his ground (HB vs the Tumbelas) or did he run as soon as he saw he was outnumbered (Black Dam vs Monwanas)? End result: Eventually the S. Avocas chased the healthy Matshapiri out of the territory and took Sparta for themselves. Mohawk died from an unrelated injury. Had he been healthy, things probably would have been different, but he was not and his brother couldn't hold the territory on his own. There was definitely a conflict in this case.
-The Tintswalos never really left their natal pride and had not shown the willingness to challenge Junior by himself let alone with Buddy. I'm sure that would have eventually changed, but it's unlikely they'd be dominant over their natal pride if Junior had lived to chase them around. End result: There was zero conflict so the Tintswalsos did not need to leave home.
-The Thandi Impis and Avoca/Giraffes had been in conflict for some time before Siznanni died. Thandi Impis actually gave one of the A/Gs a sound beating when Siznanni was still healthy. After Siznanni's hip began to deteriorate the A/Gs chased them around, but never actually caught them or the Nharu Pride. End result: The Avoca/ Giraffes may have gotten the land, but not the lionesses. Thanda Impis lost some battles but won the war as their offspring in both of their prides were raised to adulthood. There was definitely conflict in this case as well.

We see that this way because we have regular updates from Tintswalo and because of that we know exactly what happened to Junior Nkuchuma and sort of we know what happened to Buddy. If we would have such amount of updates as we have from arena where Monwana male has died (so bassicly no updates) then we would see that this way:
1. Both Orpen males suddenly dissapearing, possibly dead body of one of them would have been found.
2. About immiedietly Tintswalo males are found taking over Orpen's territory and pride.
That way I would say cases of Monwanas vs Hercules/Sumatra and Orpens vs Tintswalo takeovers might be similar (might not of course if Sumatra/Hercules indeed confronted and killed Monwana male. but that is what we can only speculate about)

He was found on Johnniesdale at our big dam. He then went North West. But get chased again by the Torchwood and Birmingham Male. Not sure where he went then.
So basically South of our Lodge. Close to the Ngala border with us.

Harsh life for him, shame his younger brother didnt make it, life would be much easier.
I think he needs to move out of this area and try his luck elsewhere, Torchwood/BYM are clearly dominant and established coalition here and wont accept him at this point, shame he didn't link with them half a year ago or so..

The mighty River pride and their dominant males Hosi and Socha have maintained their split with a core group of 17 females and cubs being spotted consistently throughout the month as well as a breakaway partnership of 2 females, with their respective youngsters in tow. On one hot morning, guide Emily came across the two females alone at the Misava airstrip. After a short while, the females decided to quench their thirst at a small pan before some distant zebra caught their eyes. For another hour, our guests watched as the lionesses set their trap, patiently and carefully closing the distance between them as they avoided detection. Finally, one lioness saw her moment and launched at the herd creating a cloud of dust and rush of noise and motion. The second female dove in behind her sister to flank the fleeing animals but, with luck not on their side, the zebra managed to escape to safety leaving our hungry felines disappointed. With only one in three lions hunts ending in success, it was an all too common feeling for these mothers.
Another thrilling sighting was the return of the 3 eldest sub-adult males, now close to 3 years old and moving in a tentative coalition, having seemingly adjusted well to life without the pride. In addition, one of the River pride lionesses appears to be heavily pregnant and her movements suggest she is planning on making a den anytime soon - some very exciting times ahead for our lions!
