There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Nkuchuma male is probably already deep in KNP and away from Sabi Sands.

Different angles but a notch is missing

comparison between the male and the blind boy

Compare whiskers, due to low resolution of image, that kind of small cut might not be visiable.

I think its very likely blind guy because of the eye, which is clearly darker on all pictures :

I hope he reappears soon, in case he did run into Kruger, there might wont be updates for a very long time, he might just vanish like Selati sons or Othawas subs

Yeah, but I guess he will be better off in Kruger. Since death of Styx male, odds of Nkuchuma male to establish territory in Sabi Sands were very poor.

He is currently holding up territory right next to his natal pride, which isn't very good for genetic diversity.
So him going into kruger and further would be better.

He is not really related to the Mhangeni pride neither from fathers side nor from mothers, but the true issue is can he really compete for the territory in Singita with two PC males? Nkuchuma male already was seen recently with some nasty bite marks on his lower quaters and him staying in the arena would probably resault in him being killed. On the other hand in KNP he can find a coalition partner and/or some land and pride not contested by any other coalition at the moment. He will have definitelly better odd in Kruger both in terms of surviving and of siring offspring.

Yea, especially as east of MalaMala is not too rich with other coalitions, only 5th and his son recently seen there.

"We found three young male lions that were showing interest in some wildebeest feeding in the distance, but being in such an open area, the wildebeest noticed them very quickly and ran off. It is not always easy being a young male lion, given that they must now try and catch food themselves! "
