Yea Othawa male wouldn't hurt Sassy or his aunts, but he would prob kill the cubs, idk about Junior, its questionable if he would recognize him or not, when he left him he was just a little cub. 
Ottawa male would attack the ottawa pride and even try a takeover given the chance. Lions don't care about the prides they came from, maybe they recognize each other but even that's debatable. Good on HB though to cover those 5km alone in this age, he seems very confident even nearing 15 years of age.

Watch the video, Othawa male didnt attack his aunties, he actually walked with them at the beginning of the video side by side, Mhangeni females started to attacking them. Ofc he would support Mhangeni lionesses in chasing them but i dont think he would hurt his sister and his auntis, but he prob would kill their cubs and fight HB for takeover. So, to suggest that Nguvu recognized them from a few seconds of footage is a bit of a leap, Its possible but not grounded in solid evidence. Going on to say Nguvu acted a certain way because he recognized the Ottawas is even more of a leap. I think lions do not care about their natal prides or their fathers. They might recognize them but don't protect or defend them in most cases. We have examples of this, Mapogos went after the Sparta pride, the sons of the black dam male are going after their father, the Mhangeni pride killed the lioness that raised them and saved them from the Majingalanes. The Notches also later took-over their natal pride, along with their father. Breakaway prides get into territorial skirmishes with their natal pride all the time. Considering all that, I find it extremely unlikely that Nguvu's behavior was at all affected by the Ottawas. Well yea, males do takeover their natal prides just as Othawa would takeover the Othawa pride, but they fight pride males for that, idk if theres any case that they killed his own mothers or sisters, especially if they left them only 1 year ago as was in this example. Fighting and even killing their own fathers is different, they where ousted by his fathers in a very brutal ways sometimes, after that they are a competition nothing else, theres a rare cases that they teamed up. Mhangenis didnt kill Tsalala lioness that raised them, it was Kambulas, they never meet or interact before.. For the breakeaway skirmishes, it mostly happens after a few years of no interactions, when prides already establish their territories, and its mostly fights for food or with males involved, this kind of fights and agression can happen even in 1 pride itself. Its not like mothers, sisters and brothers dont fight at all in a pride, they do on a daily basis. 
I think their primary instinct is to just survive and pass their genes on. Old family and friends come second
HUNGRY LIONS
Over the weekend, during afternoon safari, we found four male lions (N’waswishaka males) on the move. After scanning the area, with the sound of buffalo nearby we waited and watched, anticipating their next move. One large male became focused in the direction of the buffalo moans and was soon followed by the other three as the hunt began.
Once they had the herd of buffalo in sight, they crouched low as one male took the lead, inching closer and closer to the herd unnoticed.
We waited, holding our breath then in a burst of speed the lion exploded from the grass, but the buffalo female charged at him head on then sprinted away with the others. The other males watched after the fleeing buffalo looking bewildered in the golden sunset. A very near miss for the lions…
Just has the lions were about to settle and count their loses, the sound of a lone buffalo came from behind them and they rushed to the area. We trailed behind them to find one of the males suffocating a female buffalo that was giving birth and too weak to defend herself. They manage to secure their kill without a struggle and in a short space of time.

One of the males was barely visible as he fed on the carcass in the thick bush while the others lazed around nearby with full bellies. Finally, some success for these hungry males!

These lions need to groom each other more to get rid of the ticks. Otherwise a promising coalition .
