I think it's more likely she's mating to stall for time.  They are distracted while they have her and Aunty Othawa (if she also has been with them) to engage with while the teens continue to gain experience and hunting skills, buying them more precious time.  Each month is important.

This lioness cant conceive, she never had a litter in her life, and she is 13 yrs old..

I dont think she stalls anything, because Tumbelas arent in process of takeover Othawas yet or anything..

She is often seen mating with HB,unnucesfully,so she tries her luck with other males (same did Kambulas infertile lioness with Othawa male).. Thats it.. Reply
