 *This image is copyright of its original author The three Tsalala males have been spending a lot more time on our Northern property, and have been quite vocal about it! They have been managing to succeed in a few hunts, especially on all the large herds of Cape Buffalo passing through. Here they were seen resting in a dry riverbed during the heat of the day.
Yesterday the vets tried to remove the snare around the neck of one of the young Charlston males but sadly he passed away well under anesthetic. Very sad news. The remaining Charlston youngster has joined up with Hilda's Rock male and an unknown big male lion

What a disheartening story. These young males are true survivors who lost their pride unusually early in life and now this happens. Atleast the surviving male has the backing of a decent sized coalition now, a ragtag coalition of three lone survivors out to do big things.
Two new male lions have popped in for a visit. It is the second time the Avoca males have trekked south to Inyati. Being part of a vast reserve such as Greater Kruger National Park means that Guides and Guests at Inyati Game Lodge are likely to find new animals every drive.
