Hairy Belly Matimba name should be shortened to HBM.

Hope many more use the name HBM now.

Just 4.

It said Nov 2011, they were around 5 at the time. I know we saw pictures of HB in 2007 but that's speculation and that cub already looked at least a year old or maybe slightly less. Which would mean he was born around the end of 2006. This makes the Matimbas around 5 years old at this time.

I do not think 3,5 years old Othawa male was any less impressive in comparison with Othawa females. Perhaps guides on some video will compare those  males to other dominant males in the arena so we would get some impression on who big those males are. I myself do not expect them to be partucularly big.

"Reminds me of the young Birmingham male"

It is one think to look impressive in comparison to Othawa females and other think in comparison to Ross males. There is rather no doubt that Birmingham male is big individual. Tumbelas however... we can be only guessing at that point how would they compare to other adult males in the arena.

We will see the Potential of these lions over the next year. Their manes needs to grow and they need to bulk up as they become more dominant. Over the next year they will also make an impact in Western Sabi Sands, both against HB and against the Othawa Male who will no doubt have to face the challenge. After all this we will see the potential these males have not only in size and looks but also in their success.

Can we just end this discussion of age of Hairy Belly once and for all??

Its just unnecessary spam on this tread, it looks like theres 10 pages of pointless discussion if HB is born in 2005 or 2006...

I, and i think majority of people who follow lions believe that he is born in 2006..and if that 1 guy who thinks he is born in 2005 wants to believe that, let him have it.. Theres no point of arguing about that every other post and spamming this thread about such irrelevant topic..
