I'll watch the Tintswalo Virtual Safari now, very interesting stuff.

It is really interesting maybe it's the Mbirhi Males that is the father of the 1 cub and Mandevu and Young Orpen Male still thinks they belong to the pride and not a dominant coalition of the pride and that is why they did not kill the cubs or either 4 of them is the father and good work with the lioness that made the 4 males it is theirs. Well DNA testing and somewhat facial similarities will help us determine who might be the father, well 4 of them have different faces so it would be a good start to know who the father might be when the cub do reach adulthood.

Very interesting indeed...
What can we see: Mbiri males not showing any agressive behavior towards the cub, its clear that they thing the cub is theirs, the Mbiri lionesses not showing any signs of stress from the males being around the cub so they know that they think its theirs
Mbiris just seem to have a free pass into Manyeleti and play dominant over the Mbiris when they feel like it since we never see the Tinswalo/Orpen coalition try to defend whats theirs, so just as the cub as dads from different coalitions, the Mbiri pride seem to have dominant males or atleast resident males from two different coalitions since their behavior with both from what we´ve seen doesnt change much even in regards to the cub
Mbiri lionesses seem just as comfortable with Mandevu around the cub
So here is where I start to get some questions, could the cub really be Mbiri´s coalition cub? Well, it wouldn´t be the first time we saw Mandevu accepting cubs that arent his, thats the reason why he has a partner now, the role of Mandevu in the Mbiri pride is quite unique in my opinion due to him looking like a dominant male but Im not sure if part of him does still see himself as part of the pride he was born into and cubs showing up is natural wheter he mated with the lionesses or not so why would he kill fellow family members, we do know Mandevu mated with Mbiri females and that he might be the father of the cub, but besides territory patrols does Mandevu really acts like a dominant male towards the Mbiri pride? When he had Ncila and Lambile by his side I havent seen him defend the pride
He´ve seen he got some balls by barely " winning " if you can call it that against red road when he had numbers by his side and after trying his luck against red road alone and getting sent back just as quickly as he came
The only time I recall seeing them protect the pride was recently in the red road incident that Mandevu with the help of Orpen chased away RR
With that said thankfully all males have unique faces and if the cub grows older we might see who his father is quite easly  if he shows his traits like any of them

Quick Edit here: when and from what we´re seeing now if ZigZag dies I wish they would measure him, gosh he isnt small is he lol

Mandevu, Ncila, Orpen son, Scar and Shaka, any of them might be the father. Orpen, regardless who the father is, would accept the cub anyway since it's just another pride member/younger brother. Mandevu even if he didn't mate at the appropriate time ( I think he did tho ) had good chances of accepting the cubs anyway since it was always his pride ( natal even, he spent his entire life with them, aside of a few months ). Mbiri males have no bond left with their natal pride, they'd be the most difficult to trick, but it seems they fully believe they are the fathers.

If the mother is one of the Matimba daughters, even if he resembles Mbiri males in the future, it might be difficult to guess as Mbiris would be his uncle, never mind all the previous inbreeding all back to the Old Skybeds. Mbiri males and their Mbiri sisters' grandfathers are the Old Skybed males on both sides of the family.

Anyway, good for the cub, he has 2 coalitions protecting him, his chances of making it have increased quite a bit now, more territory to roam through.

But speaking of the Mbiri males, what a duo. While it's difficult to consistently keep a great form at their age, when they are in great condition, they are still very impressive.

On top of all the ( 17+ ) cubs/subs in the Birmingham pride, they have a cub in that new Birmingham Breakaway pride, with the other female mating, have this cub in their natal pride which they believe it's theirs, they might sire more cubs from now on, and that's not mentioning the 10/10 Mayambula cubs they raised, of which have their own cubs already, who knows how many Skorro cubs that they raised to independence ( it was a mega pride ).

And they are still going strong, will reach 8 years in power as a duo in the next 6 months. When they finally get dethroned or die, it'll be difficult to point out a more successful duo.

Mbiri Pride is really pushing the limits of how much can a pride be inbred and not have any visible down sides to that, the cherry on top of this freakish cake would be for the next pride males to be either from the pride or the cubs in Birmingham pride sired by the Mbiris, Im suprised there hasnt been born any white cub yet

Great news for Mbiri Pride, Mbiri duo were prolly the biggest threat to this cub, well them and RRM but I think he killed the other cub while Mbiri Pride was in his territory, as long as they have any male presence protecting them the cubs chances are the highest it can be.

This situation reminded me a bit of a post @BigLion39 shared in the Masai Mara thread, about the Enkonyonai boys as cubs. The first litter was actually visited by two seperate coalitions within the space of a day, both coalitions totally accepting and care for what they thought was their cubs. I don’t think we give females enough credit sometimes for how incredibly smart they can be.

Anyways, as @Mapokser was saying, even looks won’t be able to lead us into the father of this cub, not 100% anyways as all 4 males are so closely related. I remember hearing that females are generally more receptive to males who are dominant and therefore conceive much faster, and I’ve always thought of it to be somewhat true. Going by that, Orpen would be the least likely father, between Mbiri duo and Mandevu tho it would literally be a toss up.

Kinda worried for Mandevu and Orpen young male, that they dont have same fate as Guernsey/Avoca ym, if they try to defend.

Also theres 1F and 1M Mbiri pride subs, no? They are in danger too if Mbiris dont think they are theirs.

This situation is kinda similar to what NK pride had with Kambulas vs PCMs/Mantimahle sons, more powerful coalition comes in and take the females.

Mandevu/Ncile abandoning Mbiris and this area, left space for Mbiris to venture in and mate with females.

As Mandevu returned, he and Orpen ym reclaimed the area and are behaving territorial, but they still prob lack strenght to hold of powerful duo like Mbiris (unlike Mandevu and 100% Ncile), who occasionaly want to check and mate if theres available females.

Not sure if Mbiris will try to fully expand, as they are occasionaly visiting and mating with Mbiri females for years now (since Orpen males died off and Tintswalos started to establish themselves).

Maybe for them the Mbiri pride is already theirs, they even sired cubs there for all they know, maybe they just see Mbiri pride like PCM see Manghenis ( altough PCM case is even worse because theres much less distance between the territorys and PCM dont quite have a mega pride to take care of at the same time)

@Tr1x24 Scar chased the Tintswalo sub son once, they don't recognize him.

But anyway, Mbiri males never cared about Tintswalos, every time they felt like it they'd invade their territory and take over the females while Tintswalos went into hiding, since when Lambile was still alive, and after he died and Mandevu & Ncila bonded back together, they never opposed Mbiris as a duo walking over their territory, they'd always hide and be low profile every time Mbiris showed up, they were never a match, so the situation with Orpen instead of Ncila doesn't change.

But anyways, Mbiri pride is Mandevu/Orpen's natal pride and the Mbiri males are old, both coalitions accept the one cub in the pride, for the Mandevu/Orpen coalition who will likely try to take another area in the future, outside their natal pride's domain, Mbiri males are probably not a big threat in the long game.

I'd be more worried about Monwaganes who were in Mbiri pride territory at Northern Manyeleti not long ago, they for sure are unfamiliar with the pride and cub, and are the ones to have ousted Mandevu from the Skorro pride, not to mention, are the same age, still in their prime.

If Mandevu and Orpen would try expanding to their "natural" traverse area in Kruger, where they are usually seen and where Tintswalos originally took over for a brief time, Monwagane would likely be their main competition, though perhaps they could oust the Skybed son whose territory is apparently not far from there?

I doubt they'd have a chance against Monwaganes but they'd probably oust a lone male with ease considering they had no problem with Red Road.

This was the case until Ncile didnt fully recover, as Mandevu was pretty much lone territorial male for over a year (Ncile injured, Lambile health issues, neither did participate in territorial duties).

After that theres even a report of Mandevu/Ncile chasing Mbiris, pushing Mbiris back and expanding north/northeast.

Also they are most likely candidates who mauled Shaka, as he was seen alone in thei territory before that.

He is east of them, Mongawanes northeast.
