There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

A stunning male lion lying on a termite mound, wind blowing in his mane, looking just like the king he is. Certainly one of the most beautiful male lions I have seen. #tuskphoto #africa #botswana #okavangodelta #dubaplains #travelafrica #africansafari #safari #wildlifephotography #wildlife #photosafari #lion #cat #bigcat #predator #brendoncremer

Although still being playful, the younger males of the Savute marsh pride are showing a grown interest in the females which create a situation that they are about to send away the pride soon. They have been with the pride for a longer period adding muscle power to the pride helping to take down larger prey animals.

Two of the younger male lions of the Savute marsh pride having the task soon to provide themselves with their own food while being sent away from the pride. Knowing the hunting ways of this pride they will not have trouble doing that because they already participated many hunts at a younger age. The one on the right gives a friendly growl at a passing lioness.

As described in the NGW documentary 'Savage Kingdom' this is the absolute ruler of the savute marsh pride named 'Sekekama' in the film made by NHFU. I was lucky enough to have a descent sighting of him and his blonder brother for a few years now and also know them as gentle fathers for the cubs of the pride when they are present and not patrolling the borders of their large territory.

Brother bonding at the crack of dawn by the 3 young male lions soon to be send away by the Savute marsh pride to start a life on their own. I am sure these males that had always been close together will succeed as a coalition.

An earlier picture of Savute's dominant leader of the Savute marsh pride which character is named Sekekama in NatGeowild's documentary "Savage Kingdom" made by the NHFU film crew just returned here from a big buffalo breakfast and finding himself a good spot to sleep.
