That would be too unrealistic, they’d have to venture through ‘enemy territory’ to get between their two prides, they would also be heading towards their younger brothers, the Golden Boys, so I hope that never happens.
They have also been exploring everywhere, no matter the direction, this topic has partially been covered already in post #358 (page 24).

Ye I’ve seen that too, such a shame. I heard one of his older brothers, 1/5 Khwai males also went through a similar phase while still decently young and ended up passing from it.

It might be a desease that he has that even vets couldn't help it , if these are the last weeks of months with him I just hope he doesnt suffer
When the time comes and If done by this I'd like to know what he had... It wouldn't help him at all, but would give a little piece of mind just to be sure that it wasnt human fault
At this stage he needs to heal by himself, no tranquilizer will work on him in this state
I find it strange that they would intervene on him if they didnt suspect any unnatural interference

I agree, I seen that post a few days ago and didn’t think he’d make the night, I’m astonished he’s still here. I’m still leaning more to the side he eventually won’t make it, but I’d love nothing more than to see him get through whatever this is. One thing is for sure, he has already sired some offspring in the Northern Pride and with his 3 brothers very much in control, his legacy should be secured, no matter what happens to him individually.

Thank you for that, now I have even more questions about this. I know that snake bite has been ruled out as well, very strange.
TB was first seen in KNP and is thought to be from cattle to buffalo transmission, which is why it’s surprising that places like Masai Mara don’t have it. For me I think it’s one of two things, either a set of buffalo was transported with cattle and picked it up from that interaction, or it was just an extremely rare case, which over time begin to spread over KNP / Greater KNP, quicker than anyone could have ever imagined.
I seem to think it’s the first scenario as Masai Mara has a lot of cattle feeding on the grass but I’ve never seen the cattle integrated into buffalo herds for example.

‘The Golden Boys, royal kings and potential future rulers.
After chatting to some of the guides and hearing the feedback it is worth reintroducing the Golden Boys. The first two images are of the male known as Xhaoo. The male in the third image is known as Xhire.
It has been interesting to watch the lion dynamics unfold between these males and The Sexhibe Pride, formerly known as the Mababe Pride.
Three out of the four Sexhibe / Mababe lionesses have disappeared and no one knows 100% what happened to them.
The last remaining lioness happens to be Motlhokomedi. She has been seen with a large injury on her face that caused her to lose her left eye. All 8 original cubs have been sighted with her and seem to be in good condition for now…
The complicated yet very unknown lion dynamics of The Mababe depression continues to fascinate me and is always exciting hearing new stories about different individuals in order to piece together the puzzle.
These boys to me most resemble their older brother Romeo, with their very blonde manes. Romeo and Pretty Boy II are the youngest Renegades, but I’m not sure about them being littermates as they don’t seem to have that type of ‘obsessive bond’ I have seen in the past between littermates. Ofc a lack of footage, so impossible to tell 100%.
On another note, it’s a shame their lionesses seem to have disappeared, and if it was to stay that way, any and all cubs that survive would be a blessing. I think it would be the greatest achievement I have ever heard of with lions, successfully raising 8 cubs to adulthood with just a single lioness helping the dominant coalition, very unlikely to happen tho obviously.
For what it’s worth, these two boys seem to be great hunters. Just over the last few days, I’ve heard about them with 3 buffalo carcasses which they killed in the same hunt, and have even killed the odd young elephant too.
A lot of guides especially previous ones from Manyeleti are now going to Mababe depression, I wonder what’s up with that. They’re all saying great things about it too, surprised I only just heard about it this year. Was thinking maybe it’s just better accommodations but Tristan is literally sleeping in tents over there from what I’ve seen, maybe the hype is very real.

I think it’s also very refreshing to them, discovering all these new lions and the stories that come with them, Tristan said something similar in one of the posts I sent in here. Then outside of Mababe u have Savuti which speaks for itself in terms of the stories that come with it. I hope they draw interest from other guides and it soon becomes very well known so it’s easier to track for all of us on here.
Lil off topic, I was thinking about creating a lil collage, I think that’s the right name for it anyways, with the 4 Renegades, both M1 / M2 (sticking with these names for the time being as it’s easier) and possibly even the Mababe makes Gaam and Tsunami. I found out pretty quickly there’s not clear headshots for all these males to make one, but if I ever find enough, I’ll put it together. Easier for all of us to see the similarities between brothers, or potential brothers in the case of the Mababe males.
I, myself, can ID all 4 Renegades at times, only when they’re together. Much harder doing it when they’re separated as there’s just not enough footage to the point I can remember their faces 100%.
