There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

David Yarrow: " Ghost Story⁣

This is as close as I would ever want to get to this lion. Although I am protected, because the manmade hole that I am shooting through is the size of a camera lens not his head, my heart wouldn’t cope with anything less than three feet between me and him. This picture was only possible with my partner Kevin Richardson (@lionwhisperersa) - his understanding of lion behaviour is second to none, but most of all we trust each other.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Much of my approach here is down to simple mathematics and an understanding of lenses and depth of field. The fast Nikon 85mm has fabulous optical quality - it is the best portrait lens that I have ever owned - so that was my choice. "

The massive handsome dark-mane king at Karongwe River Lodge.
"To the time I met this magnificent male lion in Karongwe last year. He was an absolute beast, dark mane & very alert! Another male was close by & he would have none of it!"

This is from captivity, but I like it because many seem to consider male lions as some kind of... tanks, heavy weaponry which moves kind of slowly while on the other hand unstoppable when full throttle on... but on this video this lion shows how they can move with surprising agility, when motivation is there. Those jumps at 0:56 and 1:10 are kind of funny, imo :) They can look lazy and clumsy, but all it takes is some motivation...

We aren´t the only ones who like to sing while taking a shower.... these lions are also very handsome individuals! Always nice to see lions like these two in top condition.

"There’s nothing to beat the goosebump-inducing roar of a fully grown male lion, especially when he’s walking right past your game vehicle!"
