Aslan overall does look like a Southeast African lion to me, since this type of lion is more common in the captivity of the US and Europe, while in Asia, the Serengeti/Masai lions are more common.
Aslan's father is from Kenya. most lions I've seen in Scandinavia is also this type yes. :)
