Kambula male K3 contact calling for the Nkuhuma ladies last week
"[...] He subsequently met up with them and all moved into Londolozi.
A couple of days later, K3 reunited with his brothers, and last reported location was Sabi Sabi.
Such beautiful cats all the Kambula Boys are, with an incredible blood line.
Wishing them strength and success wherever they may roam.
Stay safe and out of trouble, Boys."

Wow what an amazing lion! Based on his appearence, he surely is a territorial male over some pride with his two partners...

He has been a dominant male for almost 2 years now.

Seeing Tendai's video ( hope someone posts it here soon ) of the 4 Kambula walking together in the north makes it hard for me to cope with the fact K4 will carry that limp with him for the rest of his life.

Kambulas, as a group or individuals were far from formidable in terms of territorial behavior, so having the strongest of them carry that limp that seems to make him lag behind and be more timid and submissive puts them in a even worse situation, one imposed on them by themselves, of course, but still. We saw some limping males who were very strong and formidable, like 1/2 OG Kurger Males and the last Nhahru male, but they had it in them, they were born to rule, K4 even before the limp was at best S.BDM level, so now I don't expect anything from him.

K4 with the permanent limp; K6 still not the same ( behavior-wise ) since the beating; K3 trying something lately but never did anything impressive even by Kambula standards; and K5 being K5, it's hard to see them accomplishing anything in the near future.

Even when they were all at their peak they still couldn't do anything, so now I have little hope left, I fear it'll reach a time where we won't see them as young males anymore, like with the NK male, where he always had potential because he was still young, but now, age-wise, he is reaching the end of his prime, but yet has no prospects of becoming territorial, and remember, taking over, siring cubs and raising such cubs takes years, if you won't start young, your chances to remain in prime and strong enough to hold the territory will decrease, so the sooner the better. I fear seeing the Kambula turn 7, 8, 9yo in this same faction, roaming from the North through Londolozi to the South back and forth.

People always mention the Shishagaan males, being similar to Kambulas and becoming dominant at 7 or something, but let's look at their success, or rather lack of it, they barely have any cubs or subadults and are likely getting ousted as I type this, they may end up as having no legacy at all.

Actually we dont know that, seeing them with lionesses here and there doesnt mean they where territorial over a pride (just as we see their younger brothers also for over a year) as we still didnt see them in company of any pride or cubs.

Them recently moving further south, towards Shitlave Dam, and away of their former area around Nyamundwa Dam after only ~1 year suggest that around Nyamundwa Dam there was not so many lionesses/prides to stay there and rise offspring, or that they are not so different than their brothers and love to roam around.

What pride do the remaining Phabeni/Shitlave Dam male rule?
Or ruleD, if he even is still alive.
I remember a video where he killed one of his own cubs, and there were around 4 females or 5. Pretty solid pride, would be great for the Kambulas and their partner to get a hold of such.

Maybe it's time to pass expectations to the new 8 Kambula males... there are at least 6 male subadults of appx same age.
