2 Kambulas (K3, K6) and 3 Nkuhumas (Ridge Nose Daughter, Little Amber, ???)

K3 is with 2 Nkuhuma Females
K3 is trying to mate with one lioness (Ridge Nose Daughter) and the other lioness (Little Amber) is sleeping.
When K3 and Ridge Nose Daughter moved and Little Amber is too close K3 and Ridge Nose Daughter, K3 became aggresive and attacks Little Amber.
No serious injury but seems like Little Amber gave K3 a claw in the mouth.
Video Link of K3 and Little Amber: Facebook

After that scuffle Little Amber separated and K6 followed.
K6 mated with Little Amber.

3rd Nkuhumas pop up don't know the ID.

I am not sure about the ID's of the Nkuhumas.

Looks like K3 likes to assert his authority over females, remember when he tried to attack their sister K12 when she was separated for week or so, but then K6 stopped him.

Might be reason why he always have fresh cuts on his face recently.

They where in their territory, so no suprise, they where not gona risk fighting 2 territorial males in their territory for buffalo kill.

That also might be reason why they where seen further south in Umkumbe, they might have been chased in that direction.
Lol how would they know they're the territorial males?? I get not fighting for a kill.  But at some point shouldn't they do what pc did and chase back??

I so want this to be real. I want these 4 boys to stay in the north with the Nkhuma girls and raise this pride up.  I am so worried it has no hope of happening, and they will crumble at one of the PCM's coming back much less both.  I also really wish the PCM's would stay in the west and keep the peace between the prides and also protect Tsalala.  But again.. that's just SO much to ask.

Also.. Good Lord is K3 a beautiful male.

Looks like PCMs are slowly starting to lose interest in expanding north.

They still occasionaly pop on southewestern north border, like EP, but they stopped pushing deeper.

Also, except mating, after that they never really claimed or hanged with NKs.

Looks like they are not ready yet to fully abandon west and expand north, and that window might be gone as Kambulas are only getting stronger as territorial males.

Once Kambulas fully claim a pride, and sire offspring, i dont think 2 males will be able to displace them.

Kambulas are on the edge of forming a strike force. At some point next year, PCMs likely will start to keep their distance from these boys.

Agreed. If they can stick around until the Nkuhuma lionesses give birth, then their paternal/territorial instincts will kick in.

Let's hope so. Would be cool to see them become pride males of those 4 Imbali lionesses as well, for a bit of genetic diversity.

We have been saying that they are one the verge of becoming territorial pridemales for a long while now. But each time they lose interest in the area after a while and wander off to elsewhere.

So I wouldnt congratulate them yet.

I honestly dont think i've ever seen K5 mate just yet
Both he and K3 seemed to be not as interested in mating as their other brothers, but K3 is now mating alot.
I'm not sure if it is a single Nkuhuma female that K3 has been mating with during the past couple of days nor if she mated with his brothers K4 and K6 before, but im sure he has been quite busy.
Dont want to be too optimistic but i feel like this time they are closer than ever to actually becoming dominants, hopefully they won't vacate it.
