Dereck Joubert: " July 31 marks a date on our calendars reserved for giving special recognition to the men and women who take on the difficult, gruelling and often dangerous work of protecting our common heritage: the precious wildlife and wild spaces that still remain on this planet. #WorldRangerDay is a time to express our admiration, to show our gratitude and a time to remember those killed or injured in the line of duty. But to truly stand with rangers, we need to support them on all the other days of the year – days spent patrolling remote and often inhospitable landscapes, making do with meagre resources and bravely facing the many dangers to be found on the frontlines of conservation.
