There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

- I never said you post crap. The fact I have to repeat this underlines you don't read posts well. Work on it. Take your time in order to understand what the other is saying. Interacting starts with reading posts well. This also is a sign of respect. If you know exactly what the other is saying, you can respond in an adequate way. Adequate means you address the issue at hand in a way that leaves no doubt. If you add some respect, you'll be just fine. If you don't, misunderstandings could develop. They often are the start of problems. So is a lack of respect.
- If you have a problem with a poster, don't start a fight but ask the mod responsible for the lion section (Majingilane) for advice. If you are unable to interact with the mod, don't discredit him, but talk to other mods or to Sanjay. And when you walk from problem to problem, take some time off to think about your attitude. When you interact with mods, remember they are important. Also remember they need to act in a responsable way at all times. When you discredit or sideline a mod, than don't complain about the results. They are no different from you, meaning they have feeling as well. Also remember all of us make mistakes. Not a few, but all the time.
- As for the Mapogos. This coalition featured in an interesting National Geographic documentary. They had quite a reputation. Although many followed them, not all questions were answered. If you want to help the forum, than try to answer them. Contacts with those in the know (rangers and photographers) are important, but cooperating with forum members and mods also helps. The more you cooperate, the better the chance you will succeed. Posters who understand this will be appreciated by many. Posters who don't, often run from problem to problem. When I said I don't want members crapping around, I mean I don't want problems over here. I like good information and knowledge, but I also appreciate members able to interact in a productive way. Members who know problems never produce anything. In this case, they resulted in a bad climate and dispersal of information. This is not what I want. I don't want readers to click their way into understanding. All information should be in one place.
- I know you're interested in the Mapogos. I also know you have access to good information. If you add reading to your qualities (like forum rules and posts of members) and if you're prepared to interact in a productive way (by cooperating), you're welcome to proceed. But remember moderators have the last word. They represent the owners. And what do the owners want? They want a forum about the natural world. Not the human world. A forum with good information and productive members who interact in a respectful way.
In short: we want to create a place of beauty about a world rapidly disappearing right in front of our eyes. This is what we want to prevent and in order to get there, we need members prepared to fight for those who can't. This goal can't be achieved if members fight each other. All clear?
Solving the Mapogo problem took a lot of time and energy. In my eyes, it's wasted energy as I couldn't use it in the way I wanted. Don't do this again.
