I guess madla could be the same weight as Waghdoh, Panna tigers where large. But from everybodies opinion who has seen him, they all seem to say he is the largest tiger they have ever seen, outside of Kaziranga.
Also remeber, Hairyfoot was said to be larger than Madla as well. So he could be around the 280kg range.
KZT023 to me looks massive in every way, I think he and few other kaziranga beasts
would be in the 300kg range.

I was also a little dissapointed by Bamera`s size, but Wagdoh is big , Bamera is not even comparable! Your dad`s description of 240-260 kg seems to fit him just about right, its my estimates aswell!
Interesting topic. Do you guys live in the area to all these parks or are you connected by profession? All these trips would probably be quite costly travelling from overseas.

Yeah hairyfoot looks massive, so sad that there is only the one picture of him!
Yeah the KZT-023 is a big one, but wasn't he killed? Wonder what that monster look's like!
Ofc they can be 300 kg's, but It's hard to estimate on pictures, when they are so different from other bengals, it's easier to compare lions from different pictures to other lions and estimate size than tigers, they do have so different body shapes.
Ahh now you, made me wanna go to Kaziranga! The landscape seems so beuatiful there! And I'm a big herbivore fanatic aswell, rhino, buffalo and elephant aswell as the biggest cats in the world! Wow! What an experience that would be!

KZT023 was killed by a male, it is reported to have been kzt085 who was seen in the same area a week prior I kzt 023's death, believe.
Check out the screen shot from the guy who took the picture of kzt 023. you should follow him on fb as well if you have it. He has some great images.
It's in the "freak specimens" forum I think.

It was KZT 085? Was 023 an old tiger? 085 do seem to be smaller, but size dosen't always matter, I know mr.T in the mapogo coalition could dominate even big Mack/ makhulu, who was alot bigger. Just by pure aggression and fighting experience! That lion was so aggressive killed so many lions!

Great information guys, I to long to visit africa and india, as well as china. How amazing would it be to visit russia and see a amur tiger! I've been pretty much all across the united states, however I long to go overseas, that is where the true adventures are IMO and hope to accomplish that one day, still very young and have a lot of time to get there one day.

It will be life changing. So many different types of people with amazing stories to tell.
Its tough in the US cause we are so far from other countries, so its pricey to get there.
Bringing the begining of this debate full circle, I think I made it harder on my self in trying to decide to go to India Or Africa for my trip. haha
I guess it's a win-win either way, which is good.

Ya Kzt023 was older and Kzt085 was said to be the same size as 23 but he was in his prime.
If you look through the photo trap images of Tigers in Kaziranga from 2009 or 2011, I forget, you will see some real big Tigers in there. Even the Tigress' are very big. Size doesn't always matter, that is correct.....
But it certainly helps in the wild hah

What Tigress' and Lioness' stand out to you guys?

Yeah I didn't know he was the same size.
As i do work with a pure wild siberian tigress, and one other, they do not come close to bengals and lionesses, not even close. But only two induviduvals, so maybe someone other tigeress from the wild would be bigger.
My experience with wild one's are 50/50. Maybe leaning slightly towards the lionesses.
But again as with Kaziranga tigress'es being very big, also the lionesses from Okavango is very big, as my dad stated, he said they where the most massive female cats he had ever seen with a good margin!
Would be fun to see a big tigeress from Kaziranga! Maybe they can be as large as those from Okavango!
The interesting thing with lions from Okavango and Tigers from Kaziranga is that both lives in svamp's, and eat's big prey. Lions in Okavango eat's buffalo, elephant and giraffe just rarely letchwe, zebra etc, etc. Some place i read someone describing the lionesses there where as big as male lions elswhere in Africa, but probably an overestimation! But still very big females!
